    egomag efficiency insert

so people have been asking me since i built my mag how many shots i can get. i can honestly say i dont shoot enough paint to run the tank dry but this weekend i was at a ncpa ( college) tournament and a buddy had several guns go down. i told him to grab my mag and try it out, worst that would happen is it doesn't shoot.

so he played one point after going through 4 different guns that day he played the last one with my mag and it shot flawlessly. he only made it through a hopper and 2 and a half pods before he was shot and went through 2300 psi from what he said. running a 72/45 pure energy tank.

    2300/( 200+( 140*2.5))= 4.128 psi per shot.

    3500/4.128= 847 shots

    (847- 200)/140= 4.6 pods

so total 200 + 4.6 pods should have about 1000psi left in the tank. i have a buddy who is supposed to do a full test at some point for me.

its not a great number but its mainly because of the way my mag is setup. it is a ep mag so it requires more air for the lpr and the noid and the about 2 ft of macroline doesn't help either.

A less than average efficiency mag should go through about 1700psi using that tank size and that number of rounds fired. An average mag should use around 1500psi and an efficient mag should use about 1400psi. He may have seen 2300psi, but it may have been slightly less than that and it was probably a hot fill which would cool down to less than 4500psi to start, so the actual usage might not be that far off from a less than ideal setup. A highly ported barrel would be the biggest reason for the inefficiency.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
