Never done it, or seen it but I got my woman agreed to try low impact, she would never ball regular she has a pain threshold of -7 on a ten scale

Could one make a 50 cal mag, how? Smaller bolt and barrel?

no, as the outer diameter of the power tube is .50 caliber. you would have to make a new valve. i think it would be faster and easier (and cheaper, probably) to just get a marker already set up for it. or, if getting hit is an issue, maybe get her some nice padded pants and jersey.

or some bmx plastic armor, of course any hit will break but the pain should be a non issue, of course with my luck I would get hit where the plastic did not cover.
