Removing spray paint & facing off the body (UPDATED)

I haven't used this Automag for a long time so I put it up in the Whats It Worth section, and got told it wasn't worth as much as it might if it didn't have the rattle can paint job on it. So, time to fix that!

    Started like this:

Plug the holes to keep the sand blast media from getting up in the threads:

Drop it into the sandblast cabinet:

    And blast away:

    Did the body, rail...

And the foregrip and grip frame. All nice and clean now:

Barrel is cleaned up now too:

Cleaning up the cut on the front end, so that its actually square, not just hacksawed reasonably square:

I probably would have used Aero-paint remover over sand blasting due to the erosion of actual material that can take place with this type of media blasting. Possibly walnut shells as they are won't usually harm the item either. I have used Aero-paint remover to take off powder coating so it should have had no problem with that finish.

Have you aired it up and fired it to be sure that all the tolerances are still good?
        ......You know you want one!!
