another broken super bolt

my friend just sent back his original superbolt that worked fine, but wanted the update, so AGD sent him the new foamie one. he put 2 cases through it with no problems. then we played this past sunday and it worked fine but when we got home and he went to clean his gun the super bolt tip had broken like the other ones on here. here's the pics of it broken. the weather wasn't that cold and the paint was 32* team colors. he said he's gonna call AGD tommorow.

I have a new hypothesis, all the failures i have seen involve people shooting paint with green fill. Apparently the delrin tom is using is weak to the color green.
Mabye if you could find some color blind delrin.........

Green paint and super bolts

I have a new hypothesis, all the failures i have seen involve people shooting paint with green fill. Apparently the delrin tom is using is weak to the color green.

There's probably an abnormally high amount of kryptonite in the green paint. These are Super bolts...


I just picked up a new Super Bolt and I'm a little worried myself. Any chance someone getting hurt by the piece that flys out? Not enough mass?

i was pondering one night in my bed about this & i was thinking. you know how delrin swells when theres oil on it??? well do you people shoot oil through your superbolt??? that just might be the problem. it would swell & then break off. just my .02 cents

I've had 3 superbolts break on my RT. With the barrel on, the front piece would lodge itself in the barrel or the friction of the barrel itself would slow it down enough not to cause any harm to someone else. But be careful if you have the barrel off and you dry fire the superbolt. If it breaks, it's got a good amount of velocity without the barrel there to slow it down.

We found that I was breaking the superbolts because the regulator seat o-ring was bad, causing air to leak into the chamber and over pressuring it. That first shot was sometimes up to 400fps but after that, each shot was around 280fps.

The superbolt wasn't designed to absorb the kind of stress that an over pressurized chamber can provide, hence the 3 broken superbolts. It might be a good idea to check your regulator seat o-ring to make sure that its ok, if not, just replace it. Once you do that, you should be fine.
