What type of velocity? The issue is going to be the "airsoft" quotient. (No mark means hit didn't count)Comment

They seem to be bragging that the round has 80% less impact energy at 15ft than a traditional paintball.
I'm looking at the velocity #'s and seeing that a traditional paintball loses ~15% of its velocity by 15ft. Their round loses ~33% of its velocity by 15ft.
That's not okay.Comment

Yeah. The inference being that an Atom6 hits the ground at 25 feet. That makes for a lot of point blank showdowns, and reduces the "off season training appeal" for paintball because the play style is not longer an accurate analogue. They seem to be bragging that the round has 80% less impact energy at 15ft than a traditional paintball.

he used a soft 3d printable material, there aren't a lot of choices for that right now but if he gets a mold made he could have them molded with whatever durometer he wanted. just guessing these are maybe 40A and I think reball material is about a 60A but since these are like a wiffle ball they could be made a bit harder.
I got a couple to test and they seem to work fine with eyes. one guy said he had a little trouble though. the problem is I only have 2 of them so it's hard to tell. eventually someone will get a hopper full and we will see.Comment
