    Many of the higher pressure adjustables will not reliably go down that low...But few will. People who like to regulate the input pressure into their Retro and RT valves want adjustable regs. You cannot change it with a preset you are stuck with 800 or 850 and thats it. So if you like the trigger feel there then no forget about it. If you don't then an adjustable is for you. The adjustable does allow for the ability to look at the guage and see the output really is. But you can do that some other ways if you want verification that your preset is putting out alright. A second outlet on a gas through verticle adapter and a guage will do that. I like to run around 700 myself so I use a Adjustable. Some even like higher than 800-850 so they can do that too. Its a matter of what you feel is good. If its not good at 800-850 then you need an adjustable.

      I got a PMI Pure Energy 47/3000 and it has not given me one problem at all, works like a charm.
