Anodizing question

    If I may add a somewhat related question to this thread, is it possible to polish up a matte piece to gloss WITHOUT having to send it back out to ano? I have a matte barrel tip that would match much better if it were gloss.

      Since anodize is, in a way, a surface dye, when you polish the matte surface to gloss, you'll also be polishing away that surface dye and will need to reanodize it.

        Yep, the surface finishing is all done prior to anodize. Then the surfaces are meticulously cleaned and anodized.

          The surface is prepped for desired finish, then cleaned, anodized, dyed, and then lastly sealed. (Not all the steps but close)
