If I may add a somewhat related question to this thread, is it possible to polish up a matte piece to gloss WITHOUT having to send it back out to ano? I have a matte barrel tip that would match much better if it were gloss.

Since anodize is, in a way, a surface dye, when you polish the matte surface to gloss, you'll also be polishing away that surface dye and will need to reanodize it.Originally posted by brokeass_baller View PostIf I may add a somewhat related question to this thread, is it possible to polish up a matte piece to gloss WITHOUT having to send it back out to ano? Yep, the surface finishing is all done prior to anodize. Then the surfaces are meticulously cleaned and anodized.Originally posted by dstud2000 View PostSo the dying process isn’t dependent on the finish is what I am understanding. Ok, thank you [emoji120]
