Terrible day with my Micro RT

Man oh man has it been awhile. For the first time in 3-4 months I played paintball with my Micro RT. I was so excited it was hard to contain myself. Then my brother brings out the paint and my joyfulness went down the tubes. It was some grab bag stuff from Galayans or something like that. It came in a 5 gallon paint bucket. I was thinking oh well I'll make the best of it and see how it runs. I shot a couple threw with no problem or breaks and was like ok it should work. Well when we started playing it hurt me to watch what I was doing. Every other ball broke in the barrel and did the same in everyone elses. It was a little chilly somewhere around the 50's and a little windy. It just hurt knowing you had someone lined up in your sights and pow a big gob of paint comes out the barrel. Now in no way am I blaming the mag for the breakage. When one did make it out it flew way off course cause the one in front was still inside in pieces. So now I'm dying to play a good day of paintball again so I can forget this horrid nightmare. Now if I only had money to go again this weekend. Any tips I can do for the brittler paints?

What kind of bolt are you using?

And more than likely the paint was also old and warped. Nothing can be done for that.

I used both my ANS Phase II Foamie and the AGD Stock foamiless bolt. They both broke it about the same. Each package was individually sealed with 500 balls in each bag. Oh well it is overwith now just got to look forward to my next day.

Road, remember what Tom was saying about the bolt and barrel breaks??? Try rounding out the edge on the face of your bolt!!! Both Bonx and I have done that to our bolts, and neither of us are having hardly any ball breaks!!! Try it with both of your bolts!!! I was shooting some cheap seconds on sunday and had maybe 2 breaks in a case!!!

I started with a MicroMag 2000 vert feed with RT valve. I had HORRIBLE shredding problems when I got the gun. All the problems I had were do to feed rate problems. First thing I did was install the Longnose bolt. ( I had never heard of the bolt until I joined AO, actually that's why I joined ) Anyway, this was a huge help, it probably removed 75% of the paint breakage I had. The other 25% was do to the lack of feed speed. I purchased a Warp, the result's were NO BREAKS. But, I wasn't really happy with the Warpfeed setup and the Vert feed, so I decided to try an experiment, slow down the valve and increase feed speed without the Warp.. I removed the RT valve, and Warp, installed my standard issue MiniMag valve, purchased a HALO and gave it a test run. Result, ZERO breaks (so far). Now I'm waiting for the new Z-Grips, this will finally complete the setup.

I don't know if this helps your situation any, just thought I'd throw it in, maybe it'll help some one else.

toymyster, I completely forgot about that. More importantly I forgot what to do again. Could you post or PM me with the directions again? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

If you were getting barrel breaks, it's probably due to the paint being too large for the barrel. If you use many different kinds of paint, it's worthwhile getting a barrel with sizers(Freak,ACI,Equation,CP,etc.).I've found most breech breaks are due to outshooting your hopper. I did have to pull back the parabolic plug a little for some really large paint. No problems since using an xboard and longnose bolt. Good luck.

                feed speed

You know, now that you mention it. I think my RT is breaking ball (well pinching) and I'm pretty sure because the View Loader is not feed it fast enough... I have the 9V view loader and I intelifeed it too. As I remember back to the weekends, which was a mixed of good and bad games, all the breaks were from pinch... I say that because I would see a big gush of paint thrown out of the top part of the powerfeed, that little square hole that's on top, you guys know what I'm talking about
