    chopping/breaking observation

Obviously mags chop . What i find amusing is that mags have this big reputation for chopping, yet i see alot of those cocker, angel, timmy, ect, owners carrying around a straight shot squegy onto the field. I don't. The most i've ever chopped on my mag(when i had it working properly) was 3-4 times. Obviously every gun is going to have some kink in it where it just has a bad day, but when my mag is working, 2 chops is a lot for a full day of play. Yet the last practice i went to, a lot of the people had straight shots on lanyards around their neck, as i'm sure alot of other people do. But mags chop to much, right.

My girlfriend said that if i bought another paintball gun, she'd leave me........ I sure am going to miss her.

Ever since I got my Intelliframe I haven't chopped. I've had my Intelli for, oh....., 4 months now. I only chopped when I short stroked and the Intelliframe doesn't let me. Then I guess my warp kind of sealed the deal.

But to tell you the truth, I don't remember the last time I've even broken a ball except the time during a top gun tourny when I tried to fit a .691 Premium into a .689 insert. Every other ball was breaking I pulled it out by sheer luck.

Maybe it's because I'm using the 9V Revy but I notice my RT will pinch, not chop balls. I say pinch because the lower corner of the ball will break, also when the ball break there's a squirt coming up through the powerfeed window out of the feed that goes into the marker.

Very few times... only about 2-3 times a whole day but when the ball break it still make my RT useless. I usually just squeegie and battle swap the barrel, I wonder if I should clean out the bolt as well but that doesn't seems to be a good idea.

I just mod my Viewloader to 12V so I hope that will solve the problem of pinching balls. I hope I will have time to test it tomorrow after work.

no no no dude, that IS chopping. Blowing is when the ball breaks in the barrel from the force of the air. When the bolt closes on the ball its a chop. Pinching is when the bolt stops on the ball, but then goes back again without breaking the bal. Thats what cockers do, and some electros. Aka guns do that, so do shockers. Mags, nope they CHOP. The secret to keeping a mag from chopping is FEED IT. Get a warp feed and get the balls going in fast enough that u cant chop.

The only time i ever chop now is when i forget to turn my hopper on. And if i do chop, i use a fluffy stick and take of my barrel in seconds for cleaning.
