Fraud? to bring up charges or not?

Hey,i was looking for everyones advice. i was scammed. i lost my gun in a trade. after a little work. i located the guy and got all his info and sent it to him in an email. this scared the *EDIT* Do not cuss. Army out of him and he decided to overnight me the gun and the money i paid to ship it. SHOULD i bring up charges of mail fraud on him?

Post who it was so others can avoid him. That is, if he's a member of AO. I'd be happy just to get everything back.

You can't bring up mail fraud on someone that his fulfilled his end of the bargain. Whether his intent was to scam you or not, if you get your gun, nothing illegal was done. Maybe give warning to others, but really there's nothing more that you can/should do. I wouldn't suggest slandering his name either cause that just results in a flame war where no one wins, turning into he said, she said debate.

A word of advice: Make sure you get a telephone number of where you will be sending your item to trade to, call it and make sure its correct

i think that there is nothing you can do, plus there was no legal binding contract mad e(im guesing) which would make it bad, because then there is no evidence to prove anything. even if there was his end of the deal has been fullfilled, the only way taht you might be able to get anything out of it was if the ocntract said that he had to send it into a certain amount of time

i did not mention that this guy impersonated a paintball store(paintball maxx). He said that we would use them as a third party, we did not the package was sent to his house. I never received my end of the bargain, I just got my old gun back.

I think it is too bad there are people like this online. But, I don't think you should bring up charges because he probably already learned his lesson.

If you didn't get his info by doing that you'd have a solid case, but hacking is looked down upon by most juries I'd assume, if you got your gun/money back I'd just let it go.
