that's what I usually try to limit myself to. I save the other 500 for playing around the house with. But I'm up for some splits if you want to. Drop me an email if you want.

Hey Wyn, thanks for thinking of me. I'd love to go...but... The semester is wrapping up so school is getting busier PLUS western is fielding one if not two teams for the NCPA tourney in chicago. Along with that goes practice, practice and more practice. Once school and the NCPA nationals is over I'll definitely hook up with you guys at any southeastern michigan field all summer. Have fun tomorrow!Electro user: WHAT!?! I got eliminated by a %@$*ing pump?Comment

I'll probably be able to go next weekend. My neighbor and I will be there, that is, if the field is worth going to. Oh yeah, i live almost right in Wixom, and on the website they said there was a field right there. Do you guys know anything about this? Thanks for offering to post pics of the field on the website PotatoBoy, I appreciate it!Once bread is turned into toast, it can never go back.Comment

Thanks for the info on the new field. I live in the Downriver area, adn there's nothing here except some guys who play on state land every so often. Also driving to Mt. Clemens, Metamora, and Pickney is just way too far of a haul for me. anyone who plays this weekend post some reviews up of the field, so we can get an idea of how good it is.

Well.... this morning on my way home from Hillsdale College and a night of partying... I realized it was 11 am, and I was driving right past the place, so I stopped by.
It was kinda hard to find, since I came from the south, and there was no sign. Coming from the North there is a single SPLAT graphic marking the driveway.
I was ushered to a parking space by Andy from TZ, who also refs at HSI. It was very muddy...
I didn't have any gear, there were probably 20 people there, but a referee (who said it was his land) got me a ref-mask and showed me around. Nice guy.
They have three fields:
1. Speedball style field, composed of barrels plastic palats, with a few bunkers built from sheets of plywood.
There's a big snake down the middle made of blue barrels.
It looks like it could be a very interesting speedball game...
2. The second field is a longer field, made of all plywood board bunkers, very similar to Spindle City at Futureball. It is pretty close, also should make for some interesting maneuvers.
3. Woods field. It is located along a hill going down to a swamp. It is really long, with one long side up high on the hill, with the opposite side along the swamp. It features a riding lawnmower, a few board type bunkers, lots of natural vegitation, and a few piles of logs. The most notable part of it is the roped off sinkhole...
I didn't see Wyn there yet, and I havn't met any of the other AOers who said they were gonna be there... so I just left after my tour.
If anyone was there, I drove the green Chrysler sedan, and was wearing orange cargo pants... and looked really discheveled because I had been partying till 4 am...
So: Without playing the field it looks like it could be a nice place, but we'll have to see how the reffing is, and what kind of games are played on the different fields.
BTW: I would highly recommend any college guys who want to find a great party to check out Hillsdale... the ratio of girls to guys was like 3:1 or 4:1... and even before the beer-goggles went on most of them were hot!!!

I also live in the downriver area, and the long 45 minute haul to Pickney is horrid(especially since Im only 16) and I also saw someone else from the downriver area, where ya from? Im from Flat Rock myself. And well this new feild is probably worht looking at, but damn, I wish there was a feild closer to my house...Semper Fidelis

Well, just got back...
I didn't play, just taking pictures, but I can say that the fields are fairly nice. The turnout was good too, there were about 50 or so. (rough estimate)
The sun came out and it wasn't terribly muddy. The fields aren't completely done yet, so they should be expanded.
The Barrels field is nice, but it seems a bit too small, especially if there are going to be consistantly large turnouts. 4 teams were run today, but it was still a little crowded.
Fred: Synreal and I got there shortly after noon, and Wyn showed up about 10 minutes after us.
Well, I'm off to work on some of these images. Synreal and I should get most of them posted either tonight or tomorrow.

Fred--
I'm willing to drive a little bit to get to a good party. If you're going to a decent campus party (ie. drinking, dancing and won't be a sausage fest) for the end of the semester let me know and we'll see if we can't hook up.Electro user: WHAT!?! I got eliminated by a %@$*ing pump?Comment

Dr. Stock-
Email me about playing at HSI this summer... a friend and I are contemplating taking over the MI Paintball Marshals group, whose current "coordinator" has not coordinated anything since last August...
ZSigErik-
I live pretty close to AnnArbor, this new field is about 10 minutes from my house... :)
Have you ever played down in Toledo? I hear there are some good places down there. Depending how far downriver you are they might actually be closer.. :)
Potato, Synreal, Wyn-
Where do you guys want to play next weekend? Futureball? or this new place? I'd really like to try out the new one... but there will be a big crowd at FB. I tend to have more fun in small groups rather than FB's "lump them all together in big groups" style. (playing pump does that... unless Wyn wants to loan me the Mini for a day... heehee!)
