Before I start I'm sure this has probaly happened to everyone that owns a mag.Where I live paintball is very popular but few people know much about painball guns out of the brass eagle,pirhana,and spyder range.So when people ask me what kind of gun I have I say "an automag".Almost immediantly they will say something like automatics are gay,or automatics give you an unfair advantage.That kind of stuff.Then I tell them that it is an autoMAG and is semi not auto.THen they say Oh or something.At first I didn't mind but now this is starting to bug me.Does it bug you too?

My only suggestion is to avoid speaking to ignorant people. Or you can help train them not to be stupid by thwacking them on the head when they say something profoundly dumb.

HA thats what exactly happened to me last saturday. Me and my brother and my friend had our mags and walked on one of the fields and said "lets get a game going" they say "what kind of gun is that?" so i anser an automag. They immediatley go "NO" WE DONT WANT TO PLAY WITH ELECTRO GUNS. Im like OMG look at it you idiot. Its not an electro, after about 5 min of fighting we just said "shut up and play".

Makes me sick.Well I shouldn't be saying to much about these guys.When I was a Noob I once thought Mags were electros.Only for about an hour though.....

I get a real kick when someone asks me; "What gun is THAT?" And when I tell them it's a Minimag with a Z-grip, they tell me all about how bad Mags are.

After I quit laughing loudly at them, I point out that they seem to know a lot about a gun they could not recognise without me telling them what it is! Same thing happens with the Emag too!

You can always tell the Mag guys and gals at the field, they're the ones having a soda or sandwich, while everyone else is busy working on their guns

haha. pretty funny stuff. well i bumped into a guy with an Emag. of course i asked him if he was on AO. he'd never heard of it. then he sees my retromag with dye 2x trigger frame and attempts to tell me that it's like his trigger. it has magnets in it. i tried pointing out the trigger rod and telling him that it was a mechanical frame. he argued for quite some time before i proceeded to tell him all about how the Emag actually works and how different it is from mine even if he switches it to "manual" (he really was using it in hybrid ) finally i told him to just get on AO and talk to all the wonderful people here so he can learn about his marker. i don't think he ever did.

You know, the solution is really easy:

Say: "Here kid, give it a go"

(Watch kids eyes light up)

Kid: "Umm.. Sure Ok"

(Play a round with the kid on your team... use the kiddies marker, he uses your Mag)

Say: "Hey, how'd you like it?"

See reaction.
It's that easy.

People can't knock what they havn't tried. If you don't want to lend your indestructable mag to someone on the field, just let them try it out on the range. It's almost the same effect.

Strange.A few of my friends are on AO.Both don't have mags but are getting them soon.Everyone I see who has a mag I ask if there on AO.No one says they are.

This is funny stuff guys. If you think the reaction to just a regular mag is annoying think about the Z-GRIP. Man i tell ya every field i go to with my z-grip minimag heads turn. I remember one time someone next to me looked at my gun and said "WTF is that" quietly to himself. Eventually i got sick of all the attention and i took of the z-grip and i just use my stock now. I really got tired of telling people what my gun is, letting them hold it, and letting them try it out. I just wanna play paintball. . .
oh yeah one more thing everybody who tried the z-grip said the same thing "wow , this is soo comfy"

Jut because you get extra attention doesn't mean you have to take the grip off.If i forked 100 for a grip there is no way I'll just take it off like that.Just my 2 cents.

This isn't really about the automag being automatic but about compressed air...Last friday when I played at my field (just about everyone uses co2, the field doesn't do compressed air), a newbie walks up to me and starts talking. I have a 114ci compressed air tank, since I can't get fills at the field I have to get it filled at a scuba shop quite a ways away.

Newbie: Woah thats a huge tank, what goes in it?

Me: Compressed air

Newbie: No I mean like what stuff goes in it? Like co2 or somethign?

Me: Compressed air goes in the tank...

Newbie: Oh, whats that?

Me: Umm...Air that is compressed....


Hahahaha I laughed so hard after that, it was priceless

Ya can't avoid them.. .they are EVERYWHERE....they live amongs us and never know that they are ignorant. BTW.. a little secret... there a are a few of them here on this Forum... I kid you not!! Better watch out....
