Attention Tom and AGD...

looking over at Tank's Bushmaster/Defiant page, i saw that a new company has put out a pseudo Z-grip. The Zenitram Z-grip. now on the advice of Manike, he suggested that i bring it to the attention of AGD. he also said that AGD might have given liscensing rights for the Z-grip. so, now, i ask AGD about this.

so, has AGD giving the rights to it? does AGD have a patent on the Z-grip? is this a case of product infringement?

WOW, look how close that rear screw hole is to the rear of the frame. Not much meat holding it on, and the screw head looks like it would overlap the rounded portion.

Actually, it is a Z-shape. According to the Z-grip patent (which this would fall under): "the handle being configured such that it is angled away from the axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the barrel towards the front end of the barrel".

The claims section of the patent words it slightly differently, but suffice it to say, the Zenitram frame constitutes patent infringement.

Zenitram is owned by a guy named Rob Martinez. He and I have both been speaking with Tom about getting licensing from him for Zgrips. So everything will be "official" if they ever make it to the market.
