What size tank is that? Go to your local pro shop and ask them, I think all you gotta do is take a pair of plyers and twist it back into its original placing.

Is that the new 5k tank from PMI? I would try sending it back to PMI, they will want to know that happened since they are fairly new. You should call them asap. But DO NOT try to fill or anything, that looks pretty bad. And I would not risk having a shop try to fix it. Send it back and get a new one.
      I have no Sig.

well looks like i wont be mailing in my tank.......im pretty sure it can be fixed....has any one else had this problem....if so how did you fix it....i hope they dont charge me for the repair if its a simple thing like screwing it back on...btw...i dont want to put some pliers to it because then it would be all grinded off and wouldnt look new....

If it was screwed into your gun and your gun fell over, thats kind of acceptable, but no way in hell should a tank come unscrewed cuz of overtightening. Thats terrible.

how long have you had this tank for? I'd be verrrry scepticle to fill that could be 3 lb. rocket again, I'd send it in to PMI for a new one whether it took 2 months or not.

ALSO, take it to a scuba shop or a really good airsmith, scuba shops are more qualified to deal with tank stuff than 90% of paintball shops.

The Reg halves are screwing apart. You need to degas the entire tank remove the top cap and check the reg seat and pin for damage and make sure it is seated properly. When reassembling everything use a little loctite to keep everything together.

The reason why you can screw it in any further is because there is pressure in the tank. If you degas the whole tank it should screw on and off with ease.

ok i have a co2 fill station.....could i just screw in the tank and use the valve to let all the air out to degass it....the problem is....there is no way to push the pin valve down.....well...taking it to a proshop thursday....they arent open today and i dont have anytime till thursday...........but is this a REALLY BIG PROBLEM....or does it happen often....and for the record i was turning it HARD for a long time(5 min) and then the air came off...................................

derek btw....hte pressure gauge reads zero....and there is no scuba shop where i live....i live in a small redneck town......the closest thing we have that has to do with air and scuba is that a long time ago we learned what s.c.u.b.a. stands for........proshop is all i got....
