    Triggerless E-mag.... The Economic Choice!

I was thinking again, very dangerous, and I came up with another looney idea. A triggerless Emag.

Here's how it came to me. I was sitting at my computer playing with some really powerful magnets I have when I glanced at my Emag, then back at the magnets, then back at the Emag, then.... well you get it. So I took the magnets and held them next to the hall effect sensor and it fired. I was just holding the magnet in my fingers and firing at like 8 or 9 bps. It's like a different version of the infrared trigger people were talking about here a couple of weeks ago.

So what you say? Well how much does the trigger and all it's little doodads, except the sensor, cost to put in the Emag? Instead of all of that stuff just give people a glove with a magnet or to sowed into the fingers. Tired of pulling your trigger, just move one gloved finger up and down on the side of the gun! I think that would be cool. Ofcourse you would have to be careful when you grabbed your gun.

    0.000000000000000000000000000 trigger pull

I'm going to make a glove anyway, even if this doesn't go into development.

I think this has been done before. I can't remember where i heard about it, but something about a sensor and something on the glove it would detect. It never took off because it isn't tourney legal.

My girlfriend said that if i bought another paintball gun, she'd leave me........ I sure am going to miss her.

If memory serves me correct, there was a guy that built an HES into his Bushmaster and used a magnet imbedded in his glove to shoot the gun. This was at least a year ago.

Take a look at this thread,

Paintball Talk is the main forum for Automags.org. Here is where we talk about the sport of paintball in general and make announcements relating to the forum and website.

Dan from Wiseguys did that awhile ago. Not legal though.

Dang! I'm still going to make a glove though. And yes, that is the thread I was talking about.

Sounds neat, to bad I can not use it in a tourney.

what if there was two sensor pads wher the trigger is suppose to be. it would be pressure sensitive and with adjustabe pressure and stuff like that. you could inversely move your two trigger fingers each touching the sensor and cycling the gun every touch. that would insanely fast and it might even be nppl legal. anyone want to back me up on the nppl thing?

BT - I posted something else about an electromagnetic blade trigger, I think that was what you are talking about.

fearc7 - I like the pressure switch idea. I don't know about the NPPL.

Another comment on a magnet trigger glove, that would give a whole new meaning to the term "Air Trigger"

and what about the best feature that an emag has... hybrid mode.

Well, if your finger slipped and you shot yourself in the foot, that'd be too bad. You'd just have to turn on the saftey. By the way, with the magnet I have, it only fires when it gets to 1/2 of an inch or less. What I have are actually a larger version of the emag trigger magnets.

As for hybrid mode, you could get it to push your finger back. New Emag with RF technology!
                            (Reactive Finger Mag)

I think it would be funny to say, "I'll play you without a battery if you do. No? What about without a trigger?"
