I need a new pair of goggles, as does a friend of mine. We both have been using Scotts for a number of years and love them but can't find them any more. We also play mostly in the woods but sometimes we play speedball. I usually wear a pull over camo hood over my goggles, and both my friend and I like to paint designs on our goggles for intimidation factor in the staging area. I have a somewhat tall and narrow head and I wear glasses. My friend has a somewhat wider head and doesn't wear glasses. We are looking primarily at the JT Proteus, Dye Invision, and the Raven Nuvis. Any help would be appreciated.

I voted for the Proteus, b/c thats what I have, but wouldnt suggest it if you have a tall face. I think a Vforce morph (or wichever on is about $60) would suit you well.
But I think the proteus would fit your friend fine.

Nuvis are great for people who wear glasses because they have a clip on the strap that makes it way easier to put on. A downside to the Proteus is they use the spectra goggles. They dont fog much, but theyre double paned so they distort. The Raven goggles have better field of vision and better clarity. Ive tried the Dye goggles on before, but I didnt get to play with them. I did notice that their foam isnt the greatest. Also if you plan to paint your goggles, the Proteus have a flexible lower part that the paint might not stay on too well, whereas the Ravens are more solid. I think it is a tossup between the Dye, Raven, and as previously mentioned, the Morpheus goggles. The only downside to those is that the lenses are a little hard to find if you break one.Kosmo For President '08, '12, '16... However long it takes

Well, based on the pole results and the responses it seems the Invision is the way to go, espesially if the Proteus lenses are paned and thereby distort ones vision. From the pictures I've seen it seems that the Invision has the widest field of view too.Die Screaming

Hold on!! Don't go into the Invision just yet....I too have been looking for good goggles, and have seen complaints that the DYE goggles DO NOT work well with glasses. You said you had glasses. Is that right Eagle??
So here is a simple equation that I have made from collected data:
DYE Invision + prescription glasses = NOT GOODI wish I wasn't broke....

*All* goggle will distort your vision *except* vforce.
Vforce Morphs (soft lower half) and Shields (Hard Lower Half) are the only masks on the market that have optically correct lenses.
They fit very well over glasses and the lenses will not fog up under any playing condition.

I'd go with the Raven Nuvis, i gots me a set up and couldn't love them more. They tint if its sunny out, made out of somekinda of material that dosnt fog (its not a coating its the lense itself, or so they say) and comfy on the face. Though they don't make a fan, and if you sweat alot on the forhead you should wear a hat/cloth thinggy. the sweat would get on the lense and fog a little.

Wish I could try all 3 so I can give an unbiased point of view. FYI, if your looking for a DYE Invision, Donngie at Modified Paintball has smoke ones for $64.99.
