    Z-body

I was wondering if anyone had used the Z-body before and if it is worth buying. If anyone knows please answer.

    Punkguitarbs,

All depends on what you're looking for... If you need more range or fltter trajectory then Yes, it is worth it. If you're just wanting something that will accept cocker threaded barrels, there is a chearper alternative.

It will work as advertised, as long as you follow the instructions.

Here are my thoughts on the Z-Body. First off, look at the price, it's damn near $300. Then you'll need a new barrel, Lapco makes a barrel specifically for it with a .697 bore, so that's another $50 just to get it to work properly.

When it works, it improves your range by 25-40%, but p8ntballer.com did a report on the body and said that it only works a fraction of the time, and thus your shots will not be consistent making you incapable of knowing where the next shot's going to go. It's not like the flatline where every ball gets the same amount of spin, as it has nothing to do with where the air hits the ball, rather the body has two pads attached to a screw in the top of the body that apply the backspin as the ball goes by.

So, it's inconsistent and costly. But the good part is that it WILL increase your range and it looks cool.

It seems pretty consistant to me. I just started playing, but we play on a field with the guy who designed it...among other things. Yes you have to spend another 50 bucks on a barrel, but its basically the last barrel you will ever have to buy since you need a large barrel anyways, so the ball can maintain its spin...so you really dont have to worry about the paint fitting the barrel anymore.

Bartleby have you ever used one before??? I have one, it's great for rec ball, it does flatten the trajectory, and does increase your range!!! It only becomes inconsistant if you turn the backspin up too far. What you have to have is a new style powerfeed plug, and the largest bore barrel in the shortest length you can get!!!
              Happy hunting!!!

Yep...have no idea where to advise you to look for a barrel, because if I remember correctly, my friend got the barrel from the designer...came with the body.

Overall flatter trajectory is about only real benefit. 'Effective' range isn't improved. Inconsistency due to random spin = loss of accuracy.

                  It's poorly/cheaply constructed... and doesn't help you - a waste of money.

                  Want range? Aim higher.

Not being able to reach your target is your gun's way of saying you're too far back. Get off your butt and move.

so does that mean no one wants to buy the foam pad i engineered to stick to the top of your barrel and give you 300 extra feet of range?
