    "Must Have" upgrades???

Hey hey everyone! Im new to the AGD forum, and well, pretty new to Paintball. I just got my first gun...and well, I figured why not go with a reliable gun.
Yes I admit...I'm a newbie with a bank account..and I'm not afraid to use it! As my wallet has proven numerous times. So let me know if anyone knows any "Must Have" upgrades...currently have basically a stock powerfeed hopper left minimag, with a Dye Boomstick.

I like my first upgrades, and I think you will too. They're pictured on my sig and you can find out more at http://www.fighterxsports.com

I'd also suggest a dbl. trigger frame and an R/T valve

Oh Lord, lead me not into temptation.., I can find my own way. --Stile

Yet another fool and his money, soon parted...

Play with a stock gun for a little while or else you will never know how to change the gun for the better. You need to get a good feel for the Mag and improve it to your tastes. Asking everyone here what upgrades to get is no better than going to the any store and buying whatever upgrades they have.

Figure out what it is you need first. if you don't like the weighting, try a Foregrip or a Stock - if you don't like the triggerpull, try someone's Z-Grip or Retro Valve. Don't buy first and see if you like it later. That isn't smart no matter how much money you have.

The only thing your Automag desperately needs is a good agitator loader (ie Revvy/Halo/Riccochet) and possibly a Nitro Tank if you don't want to deal withthe possibility of frozen O-Rings. Other than that, you need to figure out what you want to be different with your gun.

PS The AGD Online Store has Halos on sale and if you want a Nitro, I suggest the Flatline 3000psi tank. Both are high quality AGD products with great warranty support.

        Yes...I took that into concideration

Yes I know...a fool and his money. The only thing I have wasted my money on so far was that damn eVlution loader...the item description sounded good...and I regretfully ordered it. Darn Egg. Well, other than that, I have no real "Upgrades" on it yet, except for a drop forward, a new barrel, and an expansion chamber.

Try before you buy! Words to live by!

Retrovalves are nice... in theory... but personally, I can't tell the difference other than the velocity rises with each shot... (and I've never cranked up the input pressure to 900+ psi to get it to "go reactive") But, I've only shot 3 mags (repeatedly, on more than 1 occasion, 1 retro, two normal), so my experience may be limited there.

Take your stock mag to field. look for other mags. ask them if you can try theirs on the range to see if you like the grip/cradle/barrel/valve/warp/hoppper/tank/color/etc.

It will save you a lot of trouble in the long run.

MadDog has a very good point and i agree. you must play with your stock gun a lot in order to determine what needs the most attention to get the best effect.

Now, give the whole discussion about using your gun before you try to make it better is all said and done with, i'll give you a list of things that are most usually upgraded.

1: Barrel. A good paint to barrel match is the best thing you can have on your gun to improve accuracy. There are numerous threads as well as a "Tom's Tech Tip" about the best barrels and how to choose what's best for you.

2: Foregrip. Really it's just preference, however, i like it because it helps to distribute the weight of the gun and enhances the balance.

3: motorized hopper. No more shake n bake.

4: Drop Foreward. Once again just preference. Some people would prefer a short one as opposed to a long one and some people would just go for a remote line and get the tank off the gun entirely.

            5. Nitro/Compressed Air. Better consistency increases accuracy and is required for a retro valve, which i will get to in a moment. Air can be purchased in two seperate types of tanks, preset and adjustable.

            6. Warp Feed. Basically a modification for your feed system. It will take the hopper off the top of the gun and relocate it beside the marker. It is a forcfeed system that offers higher rates of fire due to a faster ball feed rate, and will completely eliminate hopper hits(maine reason why i purchased it)

            7. Double Finger Trigger. Once again all preference. Some prefer the ease of high rates of fire through a 2x trigger while some would opt for the single.

            8. Retro Valve. A valve replacement upgrade that will enhance a number of things with your gun with one fatal swoop. Better consistency, higher rates of fire, and the reactive trigger. The retro valve is able to reach a fire rate of 26 balls per second. The reactive trigger is specific to the retro valve/rtpro/emag. It puts a bit of force into the trigger return allowing for you to pull the trigger faster. rather hard to explain but a must once you've tried it. The reactiveness can be adjusted with an adjustable nitrogen tank, and, once again, nitrogen is required to use a retro valve.

Hope this helps. if you have any questions feel free to ask.

              Yup.

Yeah, my team mate shoots a mag...most of the parts I have purchased were from his recomendation. I did have the chance to shoot his gun...and well...I didnt want to give it back. Ofcourse, it was an E-mag with a warp. So who would want to give it back? I tried to test mine out at the field, but the frame i had on it quit working, so I put the single frame back on, and ended up freezing my gun because im using CO2...so the first upgrade im getting is a new air system. Then a better hopper.

To be honest get a barrel Kit from CP. Get a Lapoc Big Shot - that will cover most of your paint needs

Get a good N2 system - If you can get fills to 3k and 4500psi with little to no problem thats the way to go.

If your stuck using Co2 make sure you have 2 or 3 20oz tanks all set up with antisiphons,a nd run a good expantion chamber and a FILTER into your gun.

                  Get a Halo

Anything else is personal preferance. Nothing you can add to your AIR valve will make it work any better so stay away from those.

If you want a 2x trigger stick with AGD they know what they are doing when it comes to these guns and make them right.
