    Borg...A question for you?

    Hi Paintball dueds;
    I was just wondering what kind of paintball guns are the best, and what kind of saftey equipment is neccasary?
    I think shooting people with paint could be fun.

    Oh like I said before If you are not on Shatners team be Afraid Be Verry Afraid!
    Borg? Hu wha... Who are the Borg?

    well we are a little biased towards automags... ( hence the Automags.org) but they are a great all around gun.. and Jt masks are the best, best bang for the buck, viewloader makes the best hoppers and redz makes the best paks.... in my opinion that is...

      you cant ask for the best gun,but if YOU want a reliable gun, that wont leave you hanging(not being biased),get an automag. They wont let you down when you need it.I would also get a nitrogen tank with that. And a viewloader revolution(12volt,or 9),a JT mask(anti-fog,comfortable,not expensive[spectras]),and a Redz,or Extreme Rage pack/harness.They have quilaity, and durablity, they are also comfortable.they can come in many differnt configurations, but i would reccomend a 3pod(so its not too heavy, and has enough paint)....the packs can come in anything from 2 pod,to 10pod.you can have 2+1,3+2,4+3,5+4,and so on....(by Redz)

      both of these packs also have a pretty wide belt for optimum stationary comfort.

        If you're looking for something reliable and not too pricey, you can also look at a Tippman 98. Easy to maintain, works great, and you can find them new online for $125. JT makes great masks too.

            Ask 100 different players what to get, you'll get 100 different answers. Best bet if you are really serious about trying paintball is to take a friend or two and go rent some equipment at a local field and see if you like it. When (not IF) you find you enjoy it, try renting other brand equipment and get a feel for what you like. Then do a little homework on-line and you can set yourself up pretty easily. A full setup, with tank, air source, hopper, goggles, etc., could run you $250 or so and up. As with most other things, you often get what you pay for. If you're serious, PM me and I'll offer what advice I can. Since I'm not going to Shatnerball, I'll even offer GOOD information!

                just pulling your chain. the best newbie gun ive seen are the black dragons. they are cheap... about 199 for the good one or 110 for the compact version... and they are absolutly fun to play with. i mean Madclown is a newbie (he'll disagree with me but trust me) and he owns one and ive had 3 years experience and i own one. its even my dealers back up and he's had 7+ years experience. well to tell you the truth its a back up of a back up of a back up his main gun is an eclipse shocker, followed by and Angel LCD, then a Matrix, then the Dragon.

                  if you have never played i would say go with a tippmann, great guns for under 150, you could get a package deal for around 160 (oh and BTW i like the JT packs better)

                    Hey RomulanAlethe2nd, If you need a cheap setup, I could hook you up. I got a bunch of used stuff here. No junk either. Glad to see you are interested in the sport. And you are right...shooting people with paintballs(on a supervised field) is really fun. You will try it, and then you will become addicted like the rest of us.......

                        I would have to say that Tippy's are built really tough. As far as low cost, that's my recommendation. As far as higher end, while I don't have personal experience with them (yet), I'd recommend the Automag.

                        As far as a mask, I personally use the Scott Extreme Stalker (I like the style, and it's a good system to boot). I have also used a JT Spectra (I think it was a Spectra), and would also recommend it.

                        For a loader, I really have no experience other than a VL200 (non motorized). I do plan on getting a motorized hopper, but right now, I haven't compared them.

                        As far as other safety equipment, I'd recommend a neck protector, a baseball cap, gloves, and possibly a cup.

                        Oh, BTW, I hope to see you at Shatnerball.

                          since shatner fans want their ray guns, tell em to get angels, they have just as manny useless features as a phazor. Cept they can blend paint too.
