Based on Toms research (see Toms tech tips in the Resources section) on barrel length and bore/ball size, I bought a 10" Dye Boom Stick with the first holes at eight inches.

Shooting marbs, my accuracy / consistency has been phenomenal.

I have good results with my Boomstick, but you really pay for the Dye name. My J&J Ceramic is a good barrel for the $$. I hear other mag users talk about Lapco barrels being as good as Dye for half the cost, but I have never had the chance to shoot a Lapco so I can't say.

This is something people could post for hours and never come up with a solution or "best one" answer. For what it's worth, I have a 10" DYE and it's a seriously kick @$$ barrel. I have also owned a 12" ACI for a Tippmann I used in another life, and I've onwed a 12" PMI Perfect Ceramic. What is a good barrel is subject to opinion, but at least two things you can look at is the porting (along the barrel is for quieting, grouped at the tip is for accuracy...both is better, as in the DYE series') and the length. Obviously, if you're playing up front an 18" boomstick is going to make life hard. I prefer a good mirrored polish on the inside as opposed to a rifled inside like that of Armson. Good luck.:)

Hey try this combo. I've played one game with it and it's now my dream barrel. All american back with teardrop front. TRY IT, my friends an i swopped our barrel parts an it's AMAZING. I love it. I don't understand why but everything feels more powerful. I'm guessing i was imagining itor thats just what I wanted to believe. If you do try, then lm if i'm crazy or was it for real.
