goddamn its happened again ive feel in love with ANOTHER gun! first its my cocker(which im still loving) but despite the fact that theres still a ton i can do to it i think ill leave it the way it is(after new ball detent and a few others) my next thing was gunna be my friends mag but he got a new frame for it and doesnt wanna sell it now(its an intelli frame ) so im figuring what gun i should get? so i look around and i see the matrix

again(i was comtemplating it earlier) and now i look at reviews of the gun the trinity reg and the bolt kit and now im thinking now im seriously considering selling my tippmann holding off playing a month or so then buying the thing! so im wondering is it worth it, if thats a trinity reg in that pic? and for 650 or something at actionvillage for that particular matrix is a good price and if not wheres a better price?

matrixs are great guns.. if they work. my friend had one and it always leaked from somewhere. If he fixed one leak another would spring up.. in my opinion stay away from it unless u have money for the bolt kit and trinity reg. In that pic that is not the trinity. The trinity sticks out of the front of the gun. U'll know one once u see it. otherwise i wouldnt recomend getting one

get a viking... you cant go wrong. Ever.

For a viking all you need is:

Halo
Boomstick (ultralight, Titanium, regular *ANYKIND)
Minidrop (preferably shocktech)
Nice tank (conquest)
Blade Trigger (custom, good amount of people make it)
Maybe a custom anno or something.

You need the Red Bolt kit and Trinity for the Matrix. Note that a Rock modded matrix cannot be converted back to a Trinity, so avoid the rock mod, it doesn't work any better than the trinity, has external hosing, and requires mods to the gun body. The Red Bolt Kit is a must for efficiency and speed. Avoid the Shocktech sleeve at all costs (It can actually destroy the internals).

The Matrix is a nice gun, by far the easiest to shoot fast (With a trigger setup for rolling, 18-20bps is achievable in bursts), even with the red bolt kit, it's a gas pig, and it's honkin huge.

It's not so much unreliable as maintenance intensive, keep your bolt bathed in Dow 33(Regrease before each day of play) and it'll be happy and not chew O-Rings. Forget to grease it, and expect it to eat O-Rings and leak all over the place.

Volumizers are cosmetic only, they are actually solid, so they don't even provide a larger air chamber, like Angel Volumizers do.

That pic does not have the Trinity (Which mounts at the front like a cocker LPR). $650 is about right for the base gun, as it's $1050CDN. Contact Aardvark first, as they sell the bolt kits, they will be able to give you a package deal, and their Tequila Matrix's are sweet.

couple of facts wrong in my krofts post...
you CAN convert the rock mod back to the trinity if you need to..
and as far as regreasing goes... it is not needed after everyday of play... plenty of aarddvark techs and lots of other people who use their matrix for a long time without regreasing... but regreasing certainly wont hurt anything aslong as you know what you are doing when you put it back together!

I second that! The Viking has to be my favorite electro out right now (I'm still waiting for the Adrenaline Imps). It's compact, light, it pinches balls, lifetime warranty, choice of ano, choice of milling, trigger style (single, double, or stick), pretty good trigger (it is capped at 13, but I don't hit 13 that often anyway), low pressure, it's made by AKALMP (great company) and the barrel is the only thing that really needs to be upgraded. I am torn between that and a Cocker right now, such a hard choice.
