    Nitro Fill station Question

Hey everyone. I usually play a lot of rec ball, so the guys and I have been trying to get a compressed air setup with a scuba tank. I already got the fill station piece and thought all I had to get was a scuba tank. But now I'm hearing that I need somehting else in order to keep the pressure up. Can anyone enlighten me? Thanks!!
Getting ready for first tourney. Send me your tips...I'll need 'em.

    and non leaking top, lol

al lyou should have to do is, have a scuba tank, and a fill station. thats all my team has, we have 3 fill stations and like 5 or 6 tanks.. we pop the fill station on, then fill our tanks

what we do is we start with one tank to FILL the tanks up, then we use ANOTHER tank to TOP the tank off, this way we conserver more PSI by switching them around like that.

hint: don't EMPTY your scuba tank. when you go to get it filled and if its empty, they assume the tank is leaking and will do a hydro test on it. and thats $$. so. play it smart

So like one to start your tank then one to top it off, but could you just have one and just have one tank go off of it? What is like the max number of lets say 68s that are going to be full off of one scuba tank?

prolly only like 5-6 full 3000 psi fills, but you'll get like 30 fills greater than 2000 psi. That's been my experience with my scuba.
        You like that, don't you

I think what rikkter is talking about is called cascading.
To get the highest fill possible from your scuba tanks is to start with one and fill it then if you have another scuba then fill it again you will generally gain about 200psi on filling your smaller tank.

But a scuba tank and fill station is all you need.

My friend and I run 2 68ci 3000 psi tanks off one scuba tank. We try to practice a little restraint so we only shoot about 1500 rnds each. The scuba tank has more than enough to cover the 3000 rounds for the day. And as was mentioned before, the pressure does go down with each fill but theres still plenty to keep the gun going

t be able to fully fill a tank to it fullest when the pressure inside has dropped below the PSI of t=your tank, you'll need a compressor. say you have a 3000 psi tank. once the pressure of you scuba tnak drops below 3000 it wont be able to fill it totaly

                    well duh
You only transfer pressure from tank to tank. But by cascading you can get more.

By filling off of 2 or more scuba tanks that have the same amount of psi in them you will generally see an increase of at least 200psi.

It works I have been doing it for more then 3 years now.

Where to get a Scuba Tank & Fill Station?

I was where I would be able to get a tank and a fill station, and how much would they cost? Would I have to find a local place to get the scuba tank, or could it be shipped from an online store? I don't know of any scuba places in my area (MN).

                      Thanks for any help

you can find anything online to buy.
                        about the price.
                        a new scubatank 3000psi is around 100+
never pay 100+ for a USED scuba tank, they're just ripping you off
and the fillstations are liek 40-50 dollars on some paintball webpages.
if you get a scuba tank, you should find a scuba store. because the tanks need to get hydro over a certain amount of years, and you need to get it filled.

Yuo should buy your tanks from your local dive shop (although they won't have the fill station) that way you can build a good relationship with them and maybe have them sponsor your team so you can get free fills.
To buy online isn't so bad but the shipping is alot..I bought one of mine from paintballonline.com they are cheap there but I live in Oregon (where they are located ) so it only cost $6 to ship me mine.
Once you buy from online then you will have to have the valve installed ($20) and a visual test done(which has to be renewed every year $10).
Paintball Online also has the fill stations.

Check around if you only play at fields, most insured fields won't let you fill at the field because of insurance reasons.

So to top off your tank another way would be by a booster, right? Is it like the compressors? Would one scuba support like 3 people reasonably for the day? If not would I be able to do this with a compressor, my field is getting one in soon.

I would say 1 tank no...not for 3 people but it all depends on how much you shoot though.
1 tank will probably get you about 5000 shots maybe more.
a booster runs off a standard air compressor it then boosts to 3000 (or4000) psi from like 200
