Air America Regulator = Automag regulator?

I've just been browsing "The Complete Guide to Paintball" and saw on pages 149 forward the Air America tank regulator.

This looks like a Mag regulator in a square block. Some of the internals look interchangeable.

Are AGD and Air America affiliated? Any shared development here?

dunno about any affiliationg, but i've noticed that too.

Take apart a Genx2 regulator and a Black Ice regulator and they look just like hte reg on a mag. The black ice has the 8 hole design, while the Genx2 has 2 half moon design. THe Genx2 is much higher flow because of this, but not as dead on consistent. Kinda sucks because I can't find a happy medium. The black ice is as consistent as i want, but won't handle the high rate of fire i put out with my intimidators. The genx2 handles the rate of fire and i get no drop off, but not very consistent.

I'm almost positive about this, AGD licensed Air America to use the same reg design. Licensed might not be the proper word, but AGD let em do it.

Its not over kill -= you need to double regulate your system. The Armegeddon takes the PSI from 4500 to 700-800 psi in to the emag - which then takes it down to around 400psi.

You dont want to run 4500 straight into the gun - never mind that you cant find a tank system that would allow you to do so...

Is the 'geddon double-regulated? If so, then it's probably overkill... You'd end up triple-regulating the gun with the mag regulator.

No, AA doesn't make a dual stage reg that I know of. But even if they did, it just makes for an even more consistant gun. Thats why I like my MaxFlow so much.
