(Automaggot starts his rant) OMG I HATE OLD WHINEY PAINTBALLERS!

I'm the oldest member of my five man tournament team, being 19 years old. Three of us graduated high school two weeks ago, and the other three (one alternate) are going to be seniors when school pics back up. We've just played the second event in the Maine Amateur Curcuit, and we're beginning to encounter several issues.

    1) Most all of our serious competition is in the over-40 crowd. They have all managed to go out and load themselves up with whatever costs them the most coin. If someone told them that a Talon was the best gun in the market, they would buy a warp feed and a maxflow for it just because "its the way to go."

    2) The competition lacks any real experience. Three of our players have competed nationally on the NPPL circuit @ two World Cups, the LA Open, and Las Vegas. One has played for Adrenaline, and the rest of us have been playing regional NECCO and NEPL events competing with teams like Boston Paintball and the Hurricanes.

    3) They make their bunkers and dump paint... lots and lots of paint. Most of these guys are overweight business-types, and their fat hangs out of the bunkers making it really easy ot pinch them out.

This is where it all boils down. Its an open tournament series, and we get our team together and start whooping pretty much everyone. And all they do is complain simply because a bunch of teenagers are handing their asses to 'em. In fact, they have the refs wrapped around their fingers so much, and its seriously affecting the outcome of our games. 40 year old cry babies make me mad. In fact, we were called a "sponsored pro team" - I think they should head out west and scrimage Hendsch and Dynasty... that would give em a wake up call.

Amen..lol...Yea alot of the paintballers are just good at throwing paint....I went through 720 balls and did fairely well, alot better per ball then them.
If they measured $$/second instead of balls, It would be alot.

A nice bunker one of you guys had, right over the top!
I was playing on UPS..I forget who won our match..? How'd it go..lol I have the worst memory. You guys did good though, for the finals it was you vs chemical right? Or fog?

I got flamed for posting a like this but seriously, for the most part:

Now...Are the pro players actually any good? Or is the only thing that makes them win is shooting 10+ balls a second with full sponsership?
I would say a good portion of them only are good at throwing paint. If you had a limit of like 5 balls/second and using low end guns like spyders or something, non of them could survive, IMHO

Yes i have seen alot of old guys just get top of the line electros i havent seen one with a michanicle gun. not that it is bad when you have an electro but on like full auto it gets a little rediculos. My team practiced some older guys at a walk on field and we used one hopper each when the opposing force was throwing tubes left in right. and what i think is funny is when i just poke my head out and then i hear like 50 balls hit my bunker.i Mean wait till i am shooting or sticking out for crying out loud. If i wanted them to paint my bunker i would tell them. and then the ones who actually get a mechanicle gun buy cockers. not that cockers are bad guns but these guys have no aim why spend the money on an accurate gun when u cant aim. Auttomaggot i feel your pain.

Teams out west play SO differently dude. Its a matter of who can cheat the quickets and most efficiently.

Its not a matter of them shooting electros, because we all shoot angels too. Its just that we've EARNED the right to shoot Angels and high end markers... where these guys go out and purchase them because someone tells them to

we shouldn't stop letting old people play with electros...

if they're gonna go on an on about "back in the day" when they had pumps and the game was all skill, not just dumping paint, then they go out and shoot more than half of the other team with their $2000 set-up and then moan after the 11 year old with the cruddy Piranha gogs them, then they should go play with their pumps again...
I'm going through paintball withdrawal, I haven't been able to play since November 2003!

To all who would like to critisize the pro teams,

If all it take is throwing alot of paint and cheating how come everyone doesn't do it. If it is so easy, just save up your pennies and go play the next nppl pro. If you have ever gone to a nppl and watched you would see just how good those players are. Cheating is not the reason these teams win. The reffing at NPPL events is far better than any ohter tournament out there. I'm not saying its perfect but its the best out there.

                what

why are people critisizing the pro teams, i dont get it?!?!
they arent good cause they dump alot of paint, they are good because they devote many years of there life to it, look at shane pestana, he has been playing 12 years, its not like you can pick up an electro and your the best

whoever said that in ther eopinion pros are only good cause they can dump alot of paint is WRONG!

they sit and study the fields for hours, and they always have practices, practice make sperfect

                DONT fame the pros

To all those who complain at people who throw alot of paint....

Many people out there complain about people who do this.

People who do that are very immature. Just because you throw X ammount of balls a game doesn't mean your any better, or any worse.....

Have any of you, who whine about people throwing too much paint, ever play professionals, or very good teams? I sugguest you do before you whine about them throwing too much paint......I've played pros before (lucky me). They are NOT about spraying, if you've ever seen a pro, they don't throw 10bps at you like most think you do......In fact, most pro (and good 10man) back players won't throw more than 5 balls a second....Thing is, they hold that 4-5bps for the whole game....

I really don't care if someone shoots 10+bps at me, all I care about is if it actually hits my bunker, or me. I've played people that shoot 10+ bps, it doesn't bother me one bit, I just shoot at someone else and let em waste thier paint.

i don't care if people shoot a lot, I jsut don't like people who say you don't need to shoot a case every two games then see them stand up with an electro and an 8 pod pack... and proceed to shoot the whole thing in one 10 minute Hyperball game...

Ntroduck is exactly right... you can easily pin someone down with 4-5 bps, even with 3....

Here's the thing though.....So what if someones hitting you with 5+ balls, or whatever......Can't you just learn to shoot at someone else?

yeah, but i think it's fun to dodge in and out of that 5bps stream til I get myself gogged!

it depends on the situation too, if you're trying to move you have to shoot a little and get the guy shooting at you to hide for a few seconds
