    J&J Ceramic

Anyone else have a problem installing their plastic nubbin in a J&J Ceramic barrell? I had to sand quite a bit off the sides of the nubbin to make it fit. It dropped right in to the Minimag stock barrell.

    Thanks,

I put the plastic nubbins in on my J&J for my classic with no problem. It was a little tight, and took a little bitof abend but it went in and works fine. I don't know why you had to sand your's down.

I had a problem with J&J not milling the nubbin area deep enough on my ceramic for even a wire one to fit, so I had to mill it out to allow either a wire or plastic to fit without cutting the barrel o-ring when installing it on the gun. I contacted the factory and they said I voided the warrenty by working on it and dodged the whole issue of their lack of tolerences during manufacturing

          Actual quote:

"Since you have tried to fix the barrel yourself the warranty is void. You
should have checked with us first."

I called too and they said they were just going by the prints. Their suggestion was to use the wire nubbin.
Stu, there was no way mine was going to go in without sanding. I destroyed one nubbin trying. Just from looking at the rest of the milled cuts my guess is that the end mill was getting pretty dull. There were a lot of burrs on the edges of all the cuts.
