    Newbie Question on HPA tank

    Hey fellas and ladies I have a kind of dumb question I just bought a used mag and damn I love it. It came with a Pure Energy 48cu 3000psi tank well I am wondering how do I tell the hyrdro date on it?? There are like mad numbers and stuff stamped into the tank. Which one is the tanks date. I know but I am new at this so please help.

    Hi Mike if you would be so kind as to tell us what the numbers on the tank are, we will be gald to tell you what it's dated for. Now there might be someone here who can tell how to read it with out seeing but I can't do that.

      Sure thanks well lets see it looks like this straight across in two lines:

      DOT-3AL 3000 A693278
      M5343 01A02 P 48 CU CO2

      Thats everything that is stamped thanks again for any help.

        im guessing 01A02 is the hydro date

        aka january of 2002 not sure about the A tho

          yes it is january of 2002. i have the exact same tank (PMI 48) is the A thats between them not stamped in as hard as the 01 and 02, like you cant see it as good? that is how it is on my tank.. just wondering.

            Yep its lighter than the numbers. So its 5 years before it has to be done again right??

              Hydro is supposed to be done every 3 years here in the states.

                nope, on steel tanks its 5 years, on carbon fiber its only 3 so he was right
