I got the longest spring in, and 1.5 carrier, when the gas gets below 600 psi there is not enough preasure to move the bolt. Is that normal or will a shorter spring help?

A shorter spring will let it cycle at a lower pressure. But I should think you'd keep your tank filled often enough that you don't get it down to 600psi on the field.
