Here's the problem. I'm buying a new gun soon and the local shop is asking 70 dollars more (after tax) than the same gun I can get online. So it would be 400 vs. 330 shipped. If I buy from the field, i would get free service on the gun if anything went wrong. I don't necessarily need that since I can do all the service myself. I'm not exactly rich and 70 dollars is a big difference. What do you guys think?
Be loyal to the local shop or buy online?

I draw a limit at about $20 worth of loyalty. I mean, what do u really get for that extra 70, service which you can do yourself. I would deffinatley go with the internet price.LE Matrix
Freak System
HALO
Sidewinder

i have to say stay loyal to the local store mainly cause i am very loyal to my store. if you buy more stuff from them they start knowing you and start to give you hook ups.Comment

i'd go with the net...and i have...but i still go into my local shop for stuff like barrels, paint and the like..I'm sorry..20 bucks, i won't think twice about buying local...50, i think long and hard (unless you're buying a cocker...then you'll need that in store service)..and $70..well..if he's that far off he's either trying to make a pretty good profit off the marker or he needs to get a new distributor...Comment

you must have a pretty bad local shop then. first off i play soccer with the dude who owns my local store. then no matter who you are he gives you good prices. great prices if your one of his more loyal customers. and usually unless its a cocker or angel he'll do the service on it for practically free. i dont know if i got lucky with having such a great local store but ill never buy online again.Originally posted by irbodden
Paintball stores don't care about you, they just want your cash. Why stay loyal to them?
..go for the online shop

That's how this store is too. He'll do service on all guns he sells for free and all you pay is parts. I'm moving in a few months anways so the free service isn't that big a deal to me. Maybe I can get him to come down on the price or throw something in.Originally posted by Wc Keep

no i meant even if you didnt buy it there. cause come on how hard is it to figure out why a spyder is leaking down the barrel?
but if you moving in a short time and your not going to be frequently going to the store then i would buy it online. just remember they can always screw up your order somehow online and make it a hassle to make it right.Comment

seventy bucks is not much to have the service there in town and if any thing goes wrong with the gun they should replace it to the best of thier ability
buy guns at stores buy upgrades on line because they are alot cheaper.
thats what i thinkComment

I would buy from my local shop, but he dosent supply mag stuff and other things like that, he is a really nice guy but only supplies like paint spyder guns and other guns like that. But I did talk him into ordering 3 mags. 2 classic and 1 chrome minimag. The other shop from me is about 30 min, he supplies everything. Only thing is he hates mags and has the stuff I need but charges WAY to much for it.Comment
