All these lavish ads and promotional tools the competion uses is great and all, but that is usaully all they have, because there product doesn't work or it is not as good as the ad says it is. Now with AGD, you get a nice plain box, which I think is great, plus you actually get what you paid for and the product does what AGD said it was going to do. Tom, your marketing techniquies should stay the way they are because they work. If someone wants a pretty box or flashy adds they need to go somewhere else, but if they want a product that will out shoot and out last the competion, which is soley based on performance and quality, they need AGD.
    Thanks,
    Jason

I agree totaly with SHartley i dont mind AGD coming out with something new less often. If it means that they will make more money and then they might be able to make even better products(if thats posible) with more time and money. If they dont work on marketig then they might(i said might) go out of buisness because they will be spending so much money on development and not geting enough out of it when selling the product.

Don't want to be "Just another Spyder"

I kinda like the underground feeling of being a Mag owner, and I would hate to see them as popular as Spyders and 'cockers. I know that's not good for Tom, but everyone must admit it is nicer to be one of few than one of many...

Shartley has just said everything I was about to.

I definetly agree, and even though WDP and WGP now have flashy ads, AGD is left behind, with the RT Pro on a white background with some text under it. Not the most eye catching, but a start. I think AGD should look to marketing more like WGP does than WDP. WDP uses, well mostly sex appeal now to sell their guns. Have you been to the website recently? It comes up with a pop-up about Tolouse, and their "Heaven" area they had. Now you try and find one ugly chick there, it's not easy, and in fact pretty impossible.

WGP however is using a tweak AGD type of ad, the gun, with a pic of a player using it, with some earth tones. From what I've seen of AGD's marketing they've had, and what AGD means to me, the latter would be the way to go. Use something semi simple. Not make lavish claims, IE WDP's promo for the LCD:"The most advanced marker in the world" - taken direct from WDP's site.

AGD know's where they stand in the marketing war, and it looks now like they are more sitting down. Soon however they will rise above, standing proudly. AGD has the best and cheapest marketing advisors, AO. All they have to do to get some ad ideas or even layouts is make a contest out of it. Give away something like an Intelli or something and everyone will participate that can. I know I would, and I know a lot of other great minds that would. Doing this saves them hundreds or even thousands of dollars in marketing research, and paying designers. Now this doesn't mean they don't have to pay anything for research, however it helps a great deal.

AO is in my opinion, AGD's greatest accomplishment of the decade. Intertwining us with the flow of the company is one of the most brilliant moves I have seen in a long time.

Tom, my hat's off to you. Keep up the great work, and I hope AO is everything you envisioned it to be.
Once you have shot and eliminated someone, you have established your position towards them. In a sense, the next move is up to them...

See ya in the dead box!

            Shartley,
I agree with you totally, but i also agree with what MagDog68 said. I have been a loyal diehard AGD fan since i received my mag and was one of the first to post on the AO website. I love AGD markers, and everything they stand for, but i don't want AGD to focus on advertising more than they do on there product. AGD is all about making quality products and that is what they need to advertise.

            Thanks ,Jason

Tom, I think the marketing idea is great. I'd love to have more AGD "stuff". A jersey, headband, stuff is good

Shartley, and the rest of the proponents, well said. All of us here can agree on this...

We don't want to see AGD fade away like other gun companies. Others have popped up, showed their 'wares, and then disappear. Why, because no one bought their product, they could not afford advertising, which translates to zero sales.

AGD was able to make it through the days of no ads because of its solid products. When Tom and AGD start marketing, more guns sell, more money for AGD, more money to create even more and better products. It's the most logical business decision.

Sure, Mags have had a "cult" following, ad will remain so. But if AGD is to grow, marketing, GOOD marketing is what it needs. Many paintballers still buy the latest JT jersey every year - remember though that they are associated with Brass Eagle(another story). But JT's marketing and brand recognition still puts them on top for sales in many areas.

                    IMHO

That is the best way to say it RiceRocket. I agree with what he said. I still think AGD needs needs to base there promoting on the quality of there products.

Tom--You should save the time of your people making up designs, and have contests or something for AO to do it. It would be cheaper, and we wanted it, so we would know asactly what to do.

AGD Jerseys....... Niiiiiiice. Now Warpig will have no excuse for leaving me out of the photo gallery!

Seriously though, this is needed and I support it. More advertising means more sales and more revenue. A wealthier Tom will be in a better position to provide us with cutting edge Magness.

Unless of course he discovers the fat that people don't care about quality, they just want paintball guns that look like dragons!

I know AGD hasn't really been into promoting specific people with it's products..but if AGD started pushing CaPo and Manny (RiceRocket) as loyal mag shooters..well..hey...i'd be down with that...(I'm still stumping for a Manny Signature Extreme...but i digress)...
