well im guessing that some paintballs are heiver because in good quality paint you normally have a thicker fill. They get more expensive because they come up with new more expensive ways of making them thats suppsed to be better. If they raised the FPS lmit on a heavier paintball then it will be even more dangerous.

oh okay well about the fps being raised and being more dangerous the players will have to be closer anyway.becuse it will not go as far.

no, it will go farther. If 2 paintballs are shot and one is heavier(at same velocity) the heavier one will go farther and be more accurate.

Yep heavier paintballs have a bit more momentum to overcome aerodynamic drag. They also hit harder given the same velocity ensuring a break.

I'm fairly sure that the ASTM has a weight maximum for paintballs, unless manufacturers haven't reached it yet, there really shouldn't be a weight increase.

As for increasing the velocity levels, that + extra weight = shattered lenses, blindness and injuries. Not great idea Besides what Coaster sais is true anyways, the changes given by heavier paint show they don't need to up the fps.
