I've been living under a rock, so could someone tell me what shatnerball is?

Ok, I have been off the forum for a while, and I notice now that everyone is talking about "shatnerball". I have been able to figure out that it's some kind of big scenario game or something, but could someone please answer these questions for me? Thanks a lot.

What exactly is it?

Where is it?

Is it too late to sign up, and how much does it cost?

I don't know if there is still room avalable for the game but I was talking to one of the planners at CPX a few months ago and he said that it was sold out. I seem to remember it being arround $135. The refs at the park seem really psyked about it. The game itself is on August 31st, a few weeks into the new school year! AAGH, stupid higher education. Hopefully I'll be able to attend tank wars, which is the day after the shatner game. If I can't attend i'll try to get someone to tape it for me.
