I love paintball for all kinds of reasons.

As everyone else has mentioned, I love the adrenaline rush that comes from running, jumping, sliding, ducking, shooting, reloading, etc. Where else can I run and jump around like a phsychotic without being looked at strangely?

The total chaos that results from the "Go!", the relief of making it to the snake after running through a hail of paintballs, all draws me into the game. There's nothing quite like the feeling of eliminating an opponent. Knowing that all of your practice, all the time you've spent, all the cases you've shot, and all the money you've put into your equipment, can be summed up in one word "Hit!".

I'm also kind of a tech junkie, I love working on my equipment, maintaining it, using it, figuring out how it works, etc. I love paintball for all sorts of reasons, and I've only begun to scratch the sufrace with what I've mentioned above.

I love paintball for a lot of reasons really. My first game was nine years ago, and I've been hooked ever since. It's my experience that paintball is just something some people have "in the blood." I've known some people that have gone out and played and then said, "Well, that was fun." and then never came back to it. I think if you truly have it in you, then you just get sucked in by the drama and power of the sport. It envelopes you like a fog. You start to find yourself playing, then buying equipment, then reading voraciously about the sport anywhere you can....and through all of this you constantly think about the game.

For me, I love the adrenaline rush you get when you start from the break and rush the field. That feeling like your pitted against another person, and it's just you and them. There's a very gladitorial, primal power and energy to that. I love the machismo of playing a sport where you try to shoot another person before they shoot you, and when it's over you wear your welts like badges of courage. I love the comraderie that exsists between paintball players becuase even when we're from different walks of life we silently understand each other. We are warriors. We are not the people that go quietly into the night and accept changes to our lives. We make those changes happen.

There are probably hundreds of other things I could say that make this the most special sport in the world. Suffice it to say, this is the greatest game ever created and I'm proud to say I'm a member of the masses that call themselves players.

Exactly that, and the adrenalin. After a good game I get such a buzz.

For me it is also the ultimate escape from the rest of my concerns and worries.

                    A few things:

To play with friends, and win.

To dismantle my guns 15 minutes after I buy them, just to learn how they works.
To start tweak the guns 30 minutes after they're rebuild, because I found troubles in the design, or things which could be better.

And to be the last man standing in front of 4 or 5 players on a cone, and hang the flag a few minutes later . That's the best part of the game.

Well in fact there's a lot more reasons, but I'm too lazy to write them down hehe.

I agree with dre1919 too. It's true, anyone can play paintball, and that is why it's a great sport. But I believe it is in some people's blood, just like basketball is in Jordan's blood, and football was in Montana's. Some people just have a natural "affinity" for the sport. I can go for a year without playing (sadly, it has happened from time to time due to being in the military), jump in with a bunch of amateur level players, and play all day and be able to hang with them.
From what I read on this board, Capo seems pretty much like a natural too.
Some people are just naturally good musicians, some are good at complex math, and well...some of us are just good at paintball, and that adds to the love of the game.

                        2 Reasons

                        1) I love that when when I am playing paintball I am not thinking of anything else except paintball. The cares of the week/work/life/whatever just do not exist while I am at the field. It is the ultimate stress release!

                        2) I love the tech side while I am not playing. Buying new toys and tweaking is almost as much fun as playing. Now if only I could get a job at AGD

                        Peace,
                        Mike.

well i like it because of the rush but mainly because i get to play w/ "high tech" equipment. The fact that i actually get to run around(dont do that a hole lot) the fact that everytime i play i always forget everything else but the game at hand... in my mind thinking will i get hit in a second or 2 or what? thats the trill for me
