Why do cockers cost so much?

I have seen many people sale there cockers for a lot more than people sell there mags, but all in all i have seen the mag to be a better gun. I think it would be fun to own a cocker and a mag, but the cockers seem to be so much trouble with timing and stuff like that, i have a friend who sold his cocker and got a mag and is much more happier with it. Well let me know.

Autocockers are a more popular, more wanted gun.

If you take an Autococker thats $500 new and an Automag that is $500 new, you might get $250 for Automag yet the Autococker would be $375.

    Supply and demand.

      Also,

If you buy an Autococker, find a friend who is an Autococker guru and he'll show you the ropes. You can time the marker yourself and learn to correct most problems.

If you leave your Autococker alone, it'll work just fine.

It has to do largely with what people want. Supply and demand. Cockers are more popular(mostly because they're shiney with even shinier bits and the pros use them.) Because more people want them people can charge more and get away with it. Cockers can be upgraded with shiney bits all day while there is a limited, although more effective, upgrade path for automags. The demand for mags is lower so you can't get as much for them. That may all change a bit as mags gain more popularity since the chopping excuse is no longer valid.

Also, Milling & Ano aren't cheap, especially CNC milling on a 5-axis machine.

The cool custom ano & milling jobs cost alot, so that drives the cost up, a custom milled & ano'd Cocker body can easily run north of $600 before you add any internals & a front block. KAPP Body kits are $850 for a reason.

Actualy, lately the demand for Cockers has been much lower than in previous years. Now I beleive the resale is probably worse than a Mag's. You could have $1000 into a stock cocker and you will probably only get about $350-$500 depending on the body...

Well, stock cockers aren't worth poo. Custom cockers are so much more of the market these days, that if you are going to buy used, you're wasting your money if you don't buy a decent custom or STO cocker. The custom cockers hold their value much better.

i see stock cockers going on ebay for like 300, when they cost like 350 brand new from a store. Thats pretty good resale.
