Well you see, the Air from your tank comes in...and then it wakes up the tiny elves...and, well...

I have no idea what I'm saying...

      Very well

On the classic, the air passing into the chamber from the A.I.R., pushes the on/off pin down against the sear and trigger rod. The reg is only allowing 375-425psi, so the push against the trigger is barely noticeable.

The ReTro valve uses a longer on/off pin that extends into the passage that is channeling the air from your tank to the A.I.R., since you now can have pressure up to 1000psi pushing the on/off pin down, it will reset the sear and trigger faster and with a "kick" that is enough to push away your trigger finger. This will result in less time to re-pull the trigger since you don't have to consciously release the trigger.

Well, my explanation started out pretty good...well, ok, maybe it didn't, but I liked it anyway

The on/off pins are actually the same length .750 for Retro valves and AM STD valves. The RT feature is a result of the pressure NOT being pre regulated before it enters the chamber, but regulated after the chamber fills with the source air charge.

The RT on/off pin does its job diffrently then an AM classic on/off. The concept is like that of a diaphram valve. The on/off in the RT cuts air flow by cutting the pressure diffrential required to open the regulator up, whereas the AM valve cuts airflow by direct restriction of the air passage.
