If any of these sound like something you'd like to do, post here!!

    More info:

    Each of the four Field Commanders & Base Security will have 200 troops. Four Squad Leaders need be assigned under each Field Commander. Squad Leaders need to: Be a paintball stud; be able to follow orders & improvise on the fly; handle a group of 50 players; be on the field for the entire game;
I'm pretty sure the Field & Base Security Commanders have already been chosen, but we need Squad leaders... Preferably w/ some sort of military background... Army, Shart?
    DEMOLITIONS EXPERT:
These players have the ability to use special demolitions satchel charges. The satchel must
contain an explosives card to be counted. An explosives card alone will not work - it must be
inside a satchel. The satchel card defines what type of explosive it is, and how it may be used. The
satchel must be approved by game director.
    Artillery Crewman:
These players have the ability to use LAW rocket launchers. LAWs can be used to blow up
tanks, command bunkers, bridges and buildings and groups of people within or on these
    structures.
    ENGINEER:
These players have the ability to rebuild structures which have been previously blown up and
will be assigned to move and setup the Mobile Command Bunker (MCB).

I'd like to be a medic if possible. Two of my friends and I are experienced scenario gamers (all the Hell Survivor's games for the past several years), and we have had a medic in our group before.
With only 5 medics per team, they will have their hands full, and I have already spoken to my friends about us basically being the medic squad with them as my escorts and they're cool with it. We figure someone's always getting hit, so we'll always have something to do :)
We will be in late Thursday night, so we can get to any meeting on Friday.

        hmmm

        here's an idea..

        each medic gets a radio.

A few people have select bands/channels that the medics are on as well as some other players. We can have other people on the field with radios to get the medics to a location or to call for cover fire for a medic or wahtever..

also can someone get me a map of the overhead? The link in the other thread didn't work for me too well....also I'll need to know where the three teams are starting at on the field..

I'm assuming they're merging all the fields into one big one?

Ratt and I will get there sometime Thursday afternoon. I have to work Wednesday night untill 7am Thursday morning so I will need a couple hours sleep before we head out. I am looking at leaving probablly around 10:00 or so if Ratt is willing to do some of the driveing. Not sure on the length of the trip but I estimate we will be there somewhere around 4:00 pm. We are staying at the Super Motel 8.

Team Assimiliators Pump Tourney team will envolve
            Myself
            Ratt

            Fred
            Wyn1370
            Hitmanng

The games will start around Noon on Friday and run untill it is over. Come out and chear for us.

Muzik, I didn't know anyone else from AO is playing in the tourney. Hope to see you there, with a big bright splat on your mask, hee hee hee

As for roles, I played a company commander until my company was disolved because of lack of preperation on the part of the higher command structer at D-Day in OK. I have had some experience in command in the past but really enjoy just playing. I will be carrying along a M-79 paint launcher so if you need my services as a demolitions/tank buster I will be more then happy to serve.

From what I heard they are opening up all the fields for the event. I have stated this before in other threads, anyone travelling in that need information or a ride from an airport or anything e-mail or PM me. I am more than happy to help out.

Well, the rules state that medics need to heal people within 1 minute of them being tagged, so by the time you radio for someone it will be too late. In my experience, though, nobody's standing there with a stopwatch so if it's reasonably quick after being tagged you're OK.
I think we should have 1 medic (at least) at the HQ at all times, and then send 1 or 2 medics with major strike forces that go out on missions.
One thing I do think we should have a radio channel for, or at least a method for contacting, is the tank killing team. For these guys to be effective, they'll have to be notified quickly when somebody spots enemy armor so they can neutralize it as soon as possible.

So far we have two anti-tank weapons. One working and one being tweaked. Thordic is using one, I'm guessing he'll want a support group. So we need someone else to run the other one with another support group.

How much land we talking about for the field? How many acres? I know when I played the WRG back in 94 and 96 a guy I went with had a topo map of the area and then walked the field with his GPS (big arse thing at the time) and marked on the maps where all the boundaries and bases where. He then copied the map and gave out a hundred or so to people on the team. It was kinda nice to have cause of there being so much land you easily got turned around and where not sure which way was which.

Having said this. If the field is big enough for this idea to work. I have topo map software for the US at 1:100,000 detail and I can get topo software for IL in detail of 1:24,000. I can then walk the field on Wednesday and map out boundaries, bases and any other important way point and then get it printed out. If anyone likes this idea and I'll make sure I have all the gear with me when i get to Chicago.

BTW, I can care less what I do on the field.

hey Muzik...if you can get me a topo map of the field (better then the one from mapquest/globexplorer or the CPX site) that'd be great. I was working on getting a small boundries, forts, etc mapped out to make a sort of battle plan out of..

Being that we're in the middle we'll need alot of support on the both sides of the fort/bunker whatever.

Also, just a thought, knowing that this forum is well read, should we perhaps have a sort of "private" forum for just the Borg so that any "spies" who might be lurking can't see our plans/thoughts?

A password protected forum might work. But it might be more hassle than it's worth. Problem would come in getting it set up in time.

Thursday night I am going to the bar. Whoever wants to join me is welcome to come, but I am walking to the closest bar, tossing $100 on the table, and saying "Keep em comin"

I will be crawling back to the hotel promptly after the bar closes and/or kicks me out.

                              Thank you.

If you can get me the coordinates of one point on the field I can get you a 1:24,000 topo map of the area right now. This I can get it to you in a large JPG format. These maps are 1in = 2000ft and the contour lines are 20ft increments I believe.
