    Drop Forward

I had the pleasure of getting shot at by one of the AGD Lions today, and after the game he showed me his automag. At the time, I forgot to ask but there was a pretty long drop forward on it.

I kinda want to get one for my mag, and was curious if anyone knows of a decent drop forward for a mag - I like to have my tank pretty far forward. I've looked at some of the cute ones (flames etc) but they don't look to be too much use to me.

i have a pmi one 7 inches foreword 2.5 inches down. but the more popular and better one is the physco ballistics 7 inches foreword and 2.5 inches down and ballisticsports.com makes a 7 inches foreword and 2.5 inches down
Pardon my grammical and spelling errors i'm low on time and high on work.

It depends on your tank, etc. Also long drops may not be nessessarily what works best for you. I used to be in the long drop forward school of thought because it balances out the gun, But I've gone al the way to almost no drop because the tank shoulders better and improves my aim. Figure out if you want to shoulder your tank or hold it in your hand while you fire and then get a drop that works best for you.

Shocktech makes some nice drops in 3 different sizes so one of those should work good for you. They look pretty cool too.

Cool, I've heard a lot of people talk about the PB one, I just forgot about it. I'll check that one out, thanks.

I suppose you are right, Load SM5. I have a crossfire 68/4500 tank and I do like to shoulder it a little. It just looked real comfortable to have a really long drop forward, guess I should try it out first though. I'll check out the Shocktech ones too, thanks.

if you have a foregrip on your mag.. you will have to put a spacer in between the grip and the drop forward. i have a pmi perfect drop.. i love it.. but i had to put a spacer inbetween my drop and gripframe. you can make your own or i used an old asa and a few washers. i had to get longer screws though.. that was nothing as long as u get the right threads.

The best way I've found is to hold the gun by the grip in your right hand and the tank with your left. Have a buddy measure where everything is and see which drop fits your measurements.

I have a system x drop forward and love it. I finally filled my tank and tried everything out. I was surprised I did everything right the frist time. I even used the pink teflon tape and it looked like the AGD job when I bought the gun.

Personally, with a small tank, I like sporting a real short drop or none at all. Just personal preference...

When you first get a long drop your probably going to think its more comfortable, but after playing a few times your going to realize that you might want a shorter one(that happened to me).

When your kneeling with a long drop you dont have as much to shoulder the marker with than if your standing.

I just obtained a 68/45 Apoc, and I will be using a shocktech stubby on it. I can shoulder it nicely yet still feel pretty tight. Looking forward to playing with it on my new Impulse.

Bout that. Maybe even a little shorter. As we said, it's all personal preference, but I believe having a shorter drop makes your more accurate at snap shooting, because you can properly shoulder your marker, and I don't feel like it really effects your "tightness" into a bunker.

The Shocktech Mini I use puts the tank forward about 1.5 inches and angles it down just a bit. It fits about perfect. With the tank against my shoulder the valve sits around a half inch past the tip of my mask.
