    Barrels: Porting & Freak System

    Splattertimes Article
In the neverending quest for more accuracy, I found this article interesting. What I found particularly interesting was that the All American freak front did better than the Tear Drop front. My guess is good ole friction. If you stick your finger in the front of the TD front, it is rough because of the number and spacing of ports. I'm guessing a regular muzzle break would be better. I'll be getting a AA front soon to try out thanks to this article.

Hey! I got both fronts in 12 inch!!! Can't tell any difference though. Not very scientific but I just like the looks of the AA better. So it's gotta be better right?

Sure I will have to get one up the first of the week. You want it one the base and assembled or on gun or just the tip itself? I think I already have one on gun in my picture of when I finished my Warp feed mount a while back. Remember that one? You helped me out with that one.

OK I'll get it up soon. One word of caution the AA Freak front is 1 inch longer than the Teardrop Freak front for some reason. But yet an inch shorter than my 14 in Freak front! But in fact all AA barrels were a bit longer than the suposedly same sized Tear drops were as well.

Added on edit: Just looked through my Photopoint I can't find a good one of the barrel and tip alone. I'll take one tomorrow and in fact will take the measurement of all three tips and compair them for you. I'll lay em out side by side for a shot. This will be a 12 inch and 14 inch tear drop and the (so called) 12 inch AA.

I was surprised also but the .679 insert works well. I used it on Premiums and Big Bore and it shot better. I did get a ball break but it cleans out very easily and shot decent even when the front half had paint. I tend to get ball breaks during rapid fire. Maybe I short stroke or my loader isn't fast enough for my RT Pro. Watch for the big barrel test article coming up.
