neither, get the redz knee/shinguard pads, greatest pads around, very comfortable and provide great protection.

I wear two old saucepans, but I'm thinking about getting those DYE pads soon.

I use the redz knee/shin combos and I love them. Not only do they stay put very well, and provide great padding, but I have also noticed that more times then not paintballs bounce off of them.

Rase Renegades. Cheap, comfy and you don't take breaks on them. After that, the DYE's aren't bad. JT pads suck balls.

If you buy anything from Dye make sure you fit the BMI of the US gov otherwise nothing fits right.

I just bought some dye pads off of cphilip. I have yet to use them in a game but just trying them out they worked great.

Redz. They are simply the best right now. Durable, easy to clean, great coverage and easy to get on and off.

Walmart skating pads, oh yes $5! Most uncomfortable, hard, ugly things you could ever look at. Looks like you have a couple of painted rocks on your knees. Feels like it too. But if you don't have a budget and want to lighten up your wallet then go with DYE or Redz.

                          Absolutly the Redz Knee/shin combo.

Anyone tried the new JT skinz gear?

I guess they look "stylish",but they look like they slide over your feet to put them on. If you wanna go that way, nothing has more protection than the second generation Trace pads. I don't know who would want to try to take off their pads over their shoes. There are pretty much 3 criteria for knee pads.
1 How well they protect your knees.
                              2. How well they stay in place.
                              3. How easy they are to put on and take off.

It doesn't look like the JTs meet #3 to me. Again, I'll go with the Redz
