    Opinions about Vikings and Excaliburs??

Ever since I've been going to this paintball store and I talk about guns to the owner, he nags me and nags me about getting a Viking b/c I was talking about getting an Emag and an Autococker for my friend. He keeps telling me to get it and how good it is. From what I've seen and opinions from guys that play w/them, they're really good guns. The disassembly of the bolt is a nice advantage, and it's not too heavy, and the trigger is really nice. Then I asked my friend about the Excalibur, Viking's big brother, and he said I would be better off w/the Viking b/c the Excalibur wasn't as accurate and some other disadvantages, but it was his opinion and experience. Is this true?? And what are the differences between the Viking's bolt and the Excalibur's bolt??

AKA makes good stuff. Both guns are very efficient. They're capped out at about 13bps. The thing I don't like about the Excal is that it's pretty bulky. To me it's a trimmed down Shocker based on the Angel pneumatics. I did stick my finger in the breech on both guns and the Excal is pretty soft. The Viking does have a considerable amount of force on the bolt. Why would I get an E-Mag over an Excal? Because the E-Mag is simpler and I like the E-Mag trigger. Other than that, the Excal would be a cool gun to have.

Just to clear things up, with the release of the new software coming up (a couple of weeks hopefully), the cap on Vikings and Exaliburs will be removed. I personally own a Viking, and I must say that the quality and reliability of these markers are unmatched (except for maybe Emags). I would suggest waiting to buy one, because AKA is going through a time where the demand for their product is much much higher than anything they can fullfill. I had to wait all summer for mine, but its worth the wait. If you want some good information, check out the AKA forum over at PBNation.
As far as the difference between the Viking and Excal. Bolt, the Viking bolt has no orings, while the Excal's does.
With the excal, you'll experience slightly better consistancy, but is that consistancy really worth 500 more dollars?
I say go for the Viking.

consistancy wise both are the same. I've seen a Viking get 3 of the same velocities with good paint. The difference is mainly the different operations. Viking is open bolt, Excal is a closed bolt. Many claim Excals shoot better. Alexander from AKA says the Excal is more accurate and has longer range from being closed bolt, but we all know i dont beleive in that stuff. Honestly i havn't noticed any difference so pretty much it comes down to what you like from trying them out.

I've shot Excaliburs but not Vikings. I must say, I really like them. They are very well put together, very sturdy. Anyone who complains about a 13 BPS cap needs a reality check, NO ONE NEEDS TO SHOOT THAT MUCH! Also, who said the Excalibur was bulky? Are we talking about the same gun? I thought it was quite nice and tight. Even without a drop it's fine. If you ever get a chance toget one on a deal, go for it.

In my words, the excalibur is a matrix with better consistancy... Everybody tells me you can get a case with a 68/4500 and I think thats nice!

I didnt mean the excalibur had the matricees internals or anything.... just I think they relate to each other in alot of aspects...

Both guns are really sick. Talk to Mel from Paintballistix. They make a c&c Vike/Excal. It has an Emag Trigger. The bolt set up is nice, and they're very fast respectively. AKA made a gun that can handle punishment, and speed. I've shot paint through both and they fly. Speed is a dead issue. Most guns today are fast enough. Look for quality, and small details. Preference is a big issue. How the gun feel? You can argue BPS till you're blue in the face. Quality and low maintenance/performance counts. The AKA guns are a very nice choice.
