      AGD
After finding the Borg relic (oscilloscope) our team prop hound (TB) stashed it under the bus/RV in the open field behind our command structure. I wish I knew who the Borg player was that had made it all the way back there because he deserves some recognition.

The grass was just over waist high and our security detail sent three Texans on a patrol through the field. Of course they didn't tell us why, they just sent us out to find out if there was anything sneaking up behind us.

I took the tapeline, Radar had the center and Darkstorm took the top of the field. As we are clomping along not making any secret out of our approach (typical Texan style ) a volley of shots rings out from my left. I see Radar throw his gun up in the air and start walking back to base. At this point I have no idea where the shots came from or how many players there are hiding in the grass. All I see is Darkstorm at the top of the field moving toward me gun up on a bus in between us. I'm thinking great somebody is sniping from inside the bus, we're going to have to clear it and I have no grenades... Just as I start considering my options I see a blur of black burst out from under the back of the bus and sprint for the tape line. The poor guy never had a chance, Dark and I were perfectly set on the angle and cut his route with a pair of garden hose looking streams of paint. Unfortunatly for the Borg player he picked the one of us that was carrying a pump pistol instead of one of the other two that had Level 10 mags .

Within five minutes Radar comes running back from the recent insertion (timing your eliminations is everything in paintball ). He looks inside, around and under the bus to try and figure out what one lone Borg was doing out here so far from the collective. That is when we found the Borg relic that had been stashed earlier by our teammate. We called it in on the radio and were told to put it back where it was and forget we ever saw it. It was moved to a more secure location later before being used to garner another 100 points for the Federation at the end of the day.

I followed the trail that the Borg player must have used to get into that field. It was overgrown with those briar thorns and those trees with the one-inch spikes. Not to mention the 20 or 30 spider webs that collected on the front of my goggles... It took me 30 minutes of working through that garbage to follow the back tape around to El Centro where I came across a group of 5 players on security detail. I of course being the "seasoned" scenario player shot the medic first. Two shots and move to a new location is what I had always been told. Just as I move to the new location and lose sight of the medic I had eliminated I hear him call for, you guessed it, another medic. At this point, again, being a "seasoned" scenario player , I knew this was going to go badly... Five on one with them having a pair of medics isn't just bad odds, its certain death... Sure enough, I was dispatched just as quickly as the Borg player that had tried the same thing with us. I do admire his drive though, if I hadn't been so curious about how he had gotten to our base there is no way I would have tried that.

Thanks again for a great game. I hope you all had as much fun as we did and we look forward to seeing you all at more scenarios in the future. We are planning a trip to EMR for Memorial Day 2003. We welcome any AO player that would like to join us!

Hiya y'all. Was glad to see so many AOers there even if I was on the Federation side. Sorry but when it all came down to it I've known Shatner and Star Trek longer then I have Tom and AGD.

One correction though Gunga. I paid $450 for the Maxim mag with the William Shatner autograph and $3500 for the 24kt gold and chrome Action Marker pump marker! The purple C&C E-Mag Extreme did go for 3k though.

As for everyone making fun of us Federation folks, at least we were not content to cower in the woods or hide behind the buildings of Bedlam. We were willing to hurl ourselves upon the enemies and take glory from the field!

Just kidding. I'm not even sure who ended up with the highest score at the end of the day. I was just really glad to be there.

DarkStorm - I has some fun toward the end of the day mauling your insertion point :)

I started by crawling from the bottle corner of the hill/meadow into the middle of the field. I wacked a few players as I crawled in and up the hill.

Then you all had a weak insertion maybe 15-20 people. I mauled a good portion of that and had to beat feet because the few i missed and the few in the woods to my left were getting a weee bit close with the fire. I waited about 2 minutes and re crawled even further up the hill laying in the low grass until your main insertion.

Oh my, if I had a full tank and harness the carnage would have been awsome. I think I scored about 20-30 bodies then I had to reload, when that happened people finally saw me moving and laid some fire on me. I loaded and got the pod shot and got some more elims before finally running out of paint/air and luck and got a nice double tap google shot from someone.

I grin on my face was huge as I saw the wall of people in red shirts walking off with me :)

You feddies flat out "played" the game on us. Vipers van should be on the playing field, not safe in the parking lot.

But I still had a blast.

Radar kept raving about the Borg army and how you all helped him get a kid with a sprained ankle off the field.
After the our Borg Medic helped the kid hop out to the edge of the clearing we had to have the dead provide cover while he worked on him (luckly he was an EMT). The battle just kept raging and paintballs were still coming in on us. After he got his shoe off and wrapped the ankle I asked the kid how much he weighed. He said 100 pounds so I thought the two of us could at least get him to the netting so we could get our masks off and get out of the firefight. We held each other's arms and got to the top of the hill when we were both too tired to make it all the way to the road. We decided to rest when the bus showed up. When it finally manuvered around the camera crane we put him in, started driving out and when we hit the road we see the medical team driving up. They turned around and we followed them back.

                Nice group shot.

I always wonder though... do people who make funny hand signs when getting their picture(s) taken realize how silly it actually looks?

                  Capo all alone?

Granted, it's much like it is here, but Capo, what's it like to be the ONLY female there? I'm sure the boys were on their best behavior

Oddly enough, while I was providing cover for the injured kid, I never received a hit. Of course, I was wearing my Texas flag sandana. I'll assume no one wanted to find out what happens when a Texan is hit after he is already out.

Also, Darkstorm; at the staging area, JJ had been yelling for a Borg to transport a mission to the field. All the Borg were ignoring him, so, not having my Federation jersey on, I decided to "volunteer" for the mission.

Kendrick (member of the Borg, and successful bidder for the custom e-mag, ser # NCC1701A) saw what I was doing and decided to accept the mission his-own-self. Besides, JJ stated that I needed to have my jersey on, in order to accept the mission card.

Yep, almost pulled that one off...........

Is that a ditch behind me?

                    I'm old... I'm slow...
And I can't see very well...
Is this gun I borrowed any good?

More facts to add to the list. The Feds DID NOT have a countermeasures van at the game. They DID NOT jam any frequencies. Viper cleared the air in another thread.
