I would like playing tips, got any?

I play a mid-front, I like to shoot, and for the first time I ran a snake.. I liked it too. Did good, but it wasn't tourny play or anything...

Please, I shoot a minimag RT w/ Z-Grip and a RT w/ Z-Grip, so I'm compact. I also like shooting alot, but it's nice on my paint bill to play front every now and then too...

my brother and I are going to practice through the fall and winter and maybe early summer before we play a tourny, this way we can be good when we enter the nov level. Cause after a year of tourny play down here (most tournys) you have to move up to Rookie, unless you win ___ number of tournys at nov level.

We want to put together a 3-5-10 team, but we want to find people who are willing to work as hard as myself and my brother. (practice wise, training, etc...) I watch games like eating candy... I can't get enough of them. (DVD, VHS) I went to a feild today just to watch.

I notice a few things, people throwing their pods, people making poor slides, people running their mouth off after games (which will not happen with my team) etc...

I know some things about the sport, and common sence stuff too, but as far as practice.. any ideas?

What are common mistakes on a team? What are the strong areas to practice? How do you learn to bunker without getting shot, how do you run a snake "proper" do you always send someone to the 50..?

    Help me out here....

    novice is higher than rookie

you should enter 3 man or 5 man first. 7 and 10 man get too hard t manage on teh field for the eagle. Besides, 3 man tournies are ususally easier on teh wallet.

I notice a few things, people throwing their pods, people making poor slides, people running their mouth off after games (which will not happen with my team) etc...

ask your local field if you can practice on their speedball field for a few hours a week (normally teams practice on Sundays ). Usuaslly the field would be happy to and will let you practice with teams without paying or something. Best way to practice really is to just scrimmage against other teams.

What are common mistakes on a team? What are the strong areas to practice? How do you learn to bunker without getting shot, how do you run a snake "proper" do you always send someone to the 50..?
the biggest mistake i see with teams is they dont talk enough. The back player shouldn't be always shooting. IMO, he should be doing more takling tahn shooting and the mid player should be shooting alot to cover the front guys. And also, NEVER NEVER go off and bunker someone or move up without telling someone. Also, plan out what yoru doing before the game. Many times i see teams just agree what bunkers they are goin off the break but no later on, so keep note of that. When you bunker a player, make sure you have another player covering you. Alot of times bunkers become 1 for 1 because the other guy has just as high of a chance of hitting you. When you do a drive by bunker, shoot at him and turn around. He can lite up your back as many times as hewants but if there aren't any hits on your front, hes gone if he has paint on him. When you go for snake, you genereally wanna dive. Just make sure you have a guy behind u telling u whats going on on the field and what you shoudl do. And you dont always have to send a guy off to the 50 off the break but remember, he who controls the 50 normally wins. Its a good idea to have a bunch of players up front but not immediatly because good eagle can pick of players rocketing to the 50. And if you do go for the 50, make sure you dive and have your marker on your side and not swinging it. When you dive, becareful not to get dirt in your barrel and make sure your goggle straps are on tight because my goggles have poped off before while diving and if a reff catches you with your goggles off, its an automatic elimation. Good luck with your team.

      thanks,
my mistake on the level... but you get the idea...
I want to move up to the next level by winning, not by time played. I have yet to see any 3 man videos... I don't see them much.

      As far as bunkering,

If I'm running around the bunker, do I want to hug it on my way around, or do I want to "swing" (I've seen both on the Pro videos I'm watching)

and what's with the turning my back? If I'm coming up on the front side, the isn't the goal to get him out, even if I get shot out?

when bunkering from behind I can understand turning around after I put 3-9 shoots in his back (I have a "fairly" fast trigger finger, and w/ the rT.. )

and also, what about snake bunkering?
If I'm in the snake, and I know someone is around the bend, what do I do? wait for him to come to me? or go get him..?

and If I'm playing mid, and the back stand up is gone, and the guy in the snake is on our 40 with no one covering him, do I go over the top of the snake?

I guess theses are questions we can learn from other teams too, but a good heads up to start is always good too.

the thing is with the turning after u hit him is sometimes the reff wont see who shot who first so thats why you should do it. And ya you could learn alot from more expirienced teams.

goto www.pigtv.net and look for the Ultimate madness and watch that. There are some good games there.

Never wait for him to come to you. Usually you wan't to get someone with a fast trigger finger to cover you before you go get him. Whether you go straight around the bend or shoot over the top of the snake depends on the situation. Be sure to see where he is shooting from the snake, and also be sure to see that if you go over the top you won't be a free elimination for the other team.
and If I'm playing mid, and the back stand up is gone, and the guy in the snake is on our 40 with no one covering him, do I go over the top of the snake?
If you wan't to. My bet is, if he's on your 40 with no one covering him, he'll get shot out anyway. If you wan't to bunker him though, just get someone to lay down paint from a nearby bunker on him and come right over the top.

In no particular order. Not a complete list.

                    1. Play as much as you can.

                    2. See if you can get an experienced player to coach you while you are playing.

                    3. Get a Warp feed (very important if you are going to play snakes).

                    4. Communication is very important but as a front player you don't have to let your back guy know every time you are going to make a move.

After you play together for a while your back guys should be able to read your body language and know when you are ready to go.

Many times the window to make a move is short, and you can't waste it trying to tell people on your team what is going on.

                    5. Practice snap shooting.

                    6. Drills are overrated.

                    7. Have fun.

I went down to Dan's Land last... yesterday I went up to Paintball Atlanta to see what their fields looked like...

I don't have a problem lettn' you play with the Z a game.. just hook up with me sometime...

but I'm telling you.. once you go Z ... you won't ever go back.

I can see how a warpfeed is good in a snake, but how is it for the crawling part? I need to find someone with warp and hold it, and see if I like it or not...

don't get shot.. , I was really thinking that in order to win, my whole team had to get shot.

I think one of the Chicago videos on Forceofnature.com has some good snake play. IMO in 3 man it isnt that good of an idea to take the snake cause it is a 3 minute game.
