    School paintball team?

Has anyone started a school paintball team? A real one. Like actually register it at the school as a "club" or something? You could fund raise and stuff at the school for an extra source of income and you have more power when you ask for sponsorship because they will be advertised through the school too.

    Just a wild thought.

It has been thought of and proposed at my school.

      it was shotdown though

The thing is, alot of people still don't like anything that acts like or looks like a gun. plus i don't know how are school could afford paintball with it's ever shrinking budget.

maybe a paintball "club" could work, but a school sport with "guns" is not a very welcomed idea today

no, a school sport would definatly, DEFINATLY not work, but a club would, and a club is pretty highly ranked in school but not funded by the school.

My friend and I plan on starting one this year. It will be registered as a club, but I don't think clubs get a budget. All you need is to meet a quota of regular members, and you can have any club you want (IIRC). I won't even bring up playing on the property (they have a lot of woods), and there's no way in hell anyone will bring in a marker, we'll just meet to plan get-togethers at area fields on the weekends, and talk about equip, etc. We will try field at least a 5 man team, maybe enter some young-gun speedball tourneys in the area. That's what I'm hoping, at least. I havn't even started school yet, so I'll see how it goes.

yeah a "club" would seem possiable, maybe just like a meeting of players after school to organize games and stuff?

i see no reason why that wouldn't work

i did a speech on that topic and i found a website simply named www.highschoolpaintball.com look there i think you should find some good info. And yes i did think about the payment thing. And the paintball gun thing... hell i got a suspension for bringing in a spyder grip frame. Its a factsimily (spelling) to a gun. So my conclusion...

Paintball and school don't mix. Unless you really try hard.

I am the founder of the soon to start Daniel High School Paintball Club. It has been approved as far up as the Board of Directors. I went and got my principle behind it and send page after page of information to him. He got it approved at a high level for liability purposes and now all I have to do is find a teacher who will be our "advisor". A couple are thinking about it and should be letting me know soon.

I would be happy to help anyone get together information on what it takes or if anyone has any questions about high school paintball clubs, I would be willing to answer. Trust me on this though, they will ask you lots of questions about liability and safety and such, so be prepared for that. If you have any questions or anything, e-mail me at:

I'm the faculty advisor of the Clemson Paintball Club - I was involved in its creation. I'd be happy to help you out if I can.

                        hello

Alright as far as college clubs go you will want to talk to somone who helped create one (such as the post above me), OR even better look on the ncpa forums and talk to Raehl (pretty sure he has an AO accnt of the same name)unfortunatly thats about as much help as I can be since I didnt start ISU's team, but rather just jioned

-btw if you happen to get everything together in time... ISU is hosting one of the 1st tournaments of the 02-03 season at Realms of Ruin Paintball on sept. 28th.. Good luck starting your club and hope to see you guys there

we tried the club thing 2 years ago, and we had it for a year and it was really cool, getting together after school and on weekends to play. But last year, the school 'cancelled' it due to an 'unchristian' image and thaught it was violent and what not.
                          that's just stupid.

                              Wow this is great
I dont think im up for starting a paintball club or something like that, mainly because im a n00b to paintball, but also because I'm not prepared for that huge fight it will be for FairfaxCounty schools... in the most politically correct county in the world it will make the news. We would have to have a strong, prepared side for paintball.

                              It would be huge fight
