any reason NOT to take a hacksaw to my powerfeed?

Are there any reasons not to hack off 1/2 or 3/4 in. of my powerfeed tube? Also, will a hacksaw be able to cut the stainless steel of the body? Here's the pros/cons I can see...

    Pros:
    Slightly less weight :)
    smaller profile
closer to vert feed (more balanced)

    Cons:
Cutting AGD materials- an elf dies at the factory

i cut my standard feed down so that its only about 3/4 if an inch tall. i would suggest using a pnuematic die-grinder with a cutting wheel instead of a hack saw. that steel is reeeeeally hard!

you can see it in the pic below!

hmm... don't have access to those tools, unfortunately... think a dremel would work? I dont mind putting a little time into it

youd probably have better luck with the hacksaw, i started out using a dremmel and it bearly scratched the tube. i then switched to a hacksaw, its faster than the dremmel but since i had access to the other tools i mentioned i used those instead. do you have a vice you can secure the body in while you use the saw?

Just load 10 less paintballs if you want to save that weight.

yeah, I have a good vise to clamp it down...

and I was just kidding about the weight, you guys. What I was really wondering was whether or not it could cause issues with feeding or stuff like that... i'm doing it for the better balance/lower profile if I do it.

because it's beautiful, whats why. Would you cut down a mighty redwood? no. Would you cut down a winter sunset? no Would you destroy a herd of Elk? no....all the same reasoning.

In the future you might need to use a 90 degree elbow or an extended pf plug if you get a warp, and these may not mount correctally and may cause problems..

Hey I'll try anything once. Tell me how and I'll knock that sunset out of commission.

                            cutting feed tube

I picked up a pipe cutter from the hardware store for $10 or so, this did a pretty handy job of making a good even cut. Then I just used a dremel grinding wheel to smooth off the edges.

I'd like to cut that power tube down as much as possible as well.

I've just purchased a warp for my ReTro power feed and I was thinking of doing the exact same thing.
