AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
I love my matrix: quiet, accurate, doesn't break paint, and fast as h***. Now i got my matrix before the level 10 can out and before the Extreme's though. Personaly i wouldn't trade it for anything, cept maybe a C&C extreme. But yes, they are gas hogs (even with the bolt kits), plan on at lest a 68/4500 for a front player and a 88/4500 for back. Also, some people don't like them because they are on the larger side of the fun spectrum.
I miss my cocker's very light weight and efficiency but the speed and smoothness (surprisingly its even smoother than my cocker) is a great lure. Both are nearly perfect over the chrono.
How did I get "introduced" to the matrix? A shocktech factory player shot out our whole team and we all had the same story... "I never heard the shots just saw them about 10' from my mask then green".
I love being able to rip 3-5 shots cross field and the recipient doesn't realize he's a target until the paint lands. :)
Reliability... I dunno about bad... The design is really simple. Getting the oring kit reminded me of my RT (sort of a warm and fuzzy). Sunday night I tore the whole thing down to body and parts... cleaned everything, lubed with "Matrix Muck" and put it back together. And! it works (actually a bit better than before). The only wear parts are orings. They are cheap... easy to replace and really don't wear that quickly.
Chopping... the first time I shot mine, I didn't have my HALO handy and used a TurboRev with Vortex impeller. The loader is very quick and I have seen few markers out shoot it on semi (without reactive triggers). I was skipping shots within 3-6 shots. The trix bolt simply bounces off the ball and keeps rocking. When I got my HALO (which I have since sold for an eVL2) on there, my team was exceedingly happy with the results.
The matrix does rock. A friend of mine has one. I've fired it and can achieve a high rate of fire quite easily. He can make it sound like an automatic. I don't find that its bulky at all. I like the feel.
The one problem he has is that he has cracked two bolts in the past year. The third is on order to fix the gun right now. The service is good. He hasn't had to pay for a replacement bolt yet. They've covered it under warrantee.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
