If you own an AKA marker (or know someone who does) please pop over to PB Nation to vote in a poll I've just posted. The poll is in regards to AKA's 8 month long failure to produce software that they promised within two weeks to individuals who have purchased their markers.
Without the software the Excalibur is locked at 10bps (with new LED board), Viking at 13 and neither marker (Excal or Viking) can use the warpfeed - as the signal is turned off be default and cannot be turned on without the software.
AKA has missed repeated commitments to have the software and datalink cable finalized and ready for distribution. The promises started as early as November of last year, stating that the kit would be available within 2 weeks, and such promises were repeated as recently as the tech conference at the IAO. At this point they have not even made any formal explanation for missing their self-imposed 2 week deadline by over 7.5 months.
Please be aware that they did release an older kit with the first (Non-LED) Excaliburs. That software is not compatible with the new boards (only with the now recalled earlier board) and the old cable will only be half functional when the new software does become available. The older cable will allow uploads to the gun - but not allow a user to retrieve settings from the marker prior to making changes.
Thanks for helping, here is the link:
