Impys are by far worse guns. The extra money spent on an emag is well worth it. Impulse velocity is all over the place. The Emag has manual override, more consistent velocity and will last forever. The reason the impulse is more "upgradeable" is because it isn't that good to begin with."Shoot straight up in the air and hit the other team on top of the head...European teams do it all the time" D.A. 2001 GettysburgComment

Just letting you know that you should NOT get rid of the tank on your mag... The impulse uses an operating pressure of around 180 psi, but that is brought down by the Max Flow reg... you do NOT need the low output version of the tank...
As for the Mag vs Impy, I would take the mag, simply because my impulse was WAY too big! If you have dropforward, Revvy, and the 88/45 crossfire stub on it, the damn thing was almost as tall as long! Of course, that was with my personal setup, the way you have yours might be different...
Another reason why I like the mag over the impy was because of the question of reliability. With my mag, I could throw it in the ground, run over it with my car, and then drop it out of a plane, and it still would shoot like the day it was made... the impulse just kinda feels like a toy... I mean, I feel like I am going to break something inside it if I look at it wrong. With the maintence of the impulse, it seemed like it always took too long, I mean, there were too many steps... with my mag, all I had to put oil on the asa every now and then... MAYBE replace an o-ring inside the gun if it goes bad... the Impy has too many parts that you can't fix yourself. If something goes wrong, then you would have to send it to Smart Parts and have them deal with it, at more of a cost... if my old mag went down, all it took was 10 minutes, and an O-Ring replacement kit...
Of course, thats just my 2 cents...Hey Zero, how much did that Chipley cost ya?

You get what you pay for....and with the impy this is true, same with the e-mag.
First off, the impy, there cheeply made. THere like the spyder of smart parts. there ok, but there not worth the money
you can find a used e-mag for 600 if you look
you can also get a new one at modified paintball for 850 i tihnk
trust me it is worth it
you want a short trigger pull? spend 30 bux for the timmy 63 blade trigger for the e-mag it is worth it

As far as electros go, I would only get the following: Emag, Angel, Viking, or Excalibur. Most others feel too "cheap" to me. I believe the Imp falls into this category. To me, they feel tall and a little less sturdy than a Mag. I also prefer AGD as a company to rely on over Smart Parts. You would be getting a better ROF with the Imp, but you would also be sacrificing compactness, reliability, ease of maintanence, and reputation. Ultimately, it's up to you, but if I were in your position, I'd keep the Mag.Converge KillsComment

ok so from the newest replies it seems the mag is a sturdier gun. thats a good thing.
if i were to get an emag what frames, besides teh one mentioned can make it so that i just have to vibrate my finger on the trigger.
also, what makes the extreme better than the emag and how much more money does it cost?Selling a chrome centerfeed minimag with a boomstick, stock RT barrel, retro valve, blade intelliframe, sp stickies, dye gasthru, shocktech drop, cp on/off, and crossfire 68 4500 preset to 800.
Cost = $600 negotiableComment

BTW, is there anywhere I can buy the "tequilla fade" color advertised on the airgun website? I love the look of colored emags. The black and chrome just doesnt do it for me. Yes I know looks isnt everything, but if Im going to spend a ton of money on the mag i mine as well spend some more and be pleased with teh look of the gun
*EDIT: i forgot to mention. i know its on the site...but i was wondering if anyone knew any retail online stores that carry colored mags.Selling a chrome centerfeed minimag with a boomstick, stock RT barrel, retro valve, blade intelliframe, sp stickies, dye gasthru, shocktech drop, cp on/off, and crossfire 68 4500 preset to 800.

The extreme emag is the new kid on the block from AGD...
It features an all aluminum body, custom annodizing, Anti-chop eye, Leval 10 kit, milled body, removable breech, along with a TON of other things I am probably missing...
Retail on the Extreme is what, 1400? I need confirmation ont that though..
But for an Extreme, you WILL be waiting for quite some time...
There are no aftermarket Emag trigger frames, only the custom triggers that people make on these boards... I don't know a ton about them, so I won't pretend that I do.Hey Zero, how much did that Chipley cost ya?

so in other words....can i or cant i make the trigger small enough that i dont really have to "pull" it. i would like it to be such a short and light action that i can just tap on it and it will fire.
also, about the colors...i know proteam offers colors on the micros except i am looking for the colors like ones on agd.Selling a chrome centerfeed minimag with a boomstick, stock RT barrel, retro valve, blade intelliframe, sp stickies, dye gasthru, shocktech drop, cp on/off, and crossfire 68 4500 preset to 800.

Bah you impy haters. No, i'm not a mag hater by any means. But you make it seem that he will have hours on end of maintance just to play for a few hours. This is so untrue. It takes about five or ten minutes to lube up an impy if you know what your are doing. I've delt with sending things to Smart Parts too. I broke (yes me, not a problem with the impy) the microswitch on my trigger and had it back in eight days. They new impy's are much better on gas with the front reg i've heard. Also you have to think about price, mags are more expensive. The impy's trigger can be super sweet, and its very easy to adjust. I don't see how either is better then the other, it is just preference. My impy is sturdy as heck, not a part has any jiggle to it at all. Plus I think it looks better then a tube. Ouch, sorry, low shot, had to be said tho. Anyways, on a final note... Screw angels.
Oh yeah, i've never had my impy break down on me in six months of hard playing, mostly twice a week. And I only greased it about three times the whole time. But i'm probley going to buy a sfl emag once I can find one, because there both good guns. Thats it.
