So then why didn't you wait till you knew whether or not you were coming?

Tell him to take the bus with me then. Its buy one get one free basically, so we can split the cost of one fare between 2 people.

I most likely won't know if I can go until last minute. I'm gonna drive down anyway, so I won't affect others travel plans.

Hey all STUDENTS with valid student ID's, or fake ones for that matter. I found student airfare, it is a little more expensive, but for us northern jersey people, its a flight out of Newark.

These are from statravel.com, and you must be a student, or be able to fake it like I will be (don't ask me why, but Rutgers gave me an ID valid till 2004. I left there two years ago) Its not exactly cheap, but it seems a lot more convenient than driving.
