    Smart Mag?

Could someone tell me what the Heck a smartmag is? Is it just any old mag Before the E-Mag with an electronic Trigger? I've heard about them, and people I know mention them, but no one ever can explain what the monkey they are!
I've searched on google for them, and I can't seem to find anyplace that'll sell em, or give some kind of reference.
I mean, is there a big difference bewteen the Smart Mag,and a Regular 68/Mini?

A "smart mag" is a Smart Parts mag. When the automag level 7 hit the market as the gun of choice, Smart Parts being one of the largest distributor of aftermarket parts, built their own version. It contained the black box on the side of the valve to increase the volume of the valve chamber to reduce operating pressure. It wasn't a big success and dissappeared quietly into oblivion.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

Danism is correct. I to have a smartmag valve in my micromag. The box was an option that was bogus but my valve works fine. They were supposed to be cut out and ran at a slightly lower pressure. It doesn't appear to me to be much different than a regular mag valve.

The Smart Mag was a modified valve made by Smart Parts and has a slightly larger dump chamber. This lowered the operating pressure. To what exactly I forget. This came about when "low Pressure" was the latest rumor in paintball. They had shaky reliability at best and went away rather quickly. They didn't look any different on the outside with the exception of "Smartmag" laser engraved on the side. Check out the smartparts website, you may still be able to find one on there

I guess Smart Parts experimented with various methods of the lower pressure valves. Anyway smart mags were a lower pressrue mag that did not seem to work as well.
