    can back player use mags?

Hey, i own a model 98, and i play LOTS of woodsball, but im considering getting into speedball. Based on my woodsball experiences, and the fact that im 6" tall, i think i would make a good back player. But the question is, what kind of gun do i get? People have told me a lot of different things, but im leaning toward a mag. People have told me this:

    -autococker
    -BKO or other decent electro
    -automag

im still not sure, but i ahve to keep in mind that i might not even play speedball, i might keep playing woodsball

so im looking for your opinions!

all guns shoot the same range so just use something your comfortable with and can lay down paint.

Well, I'm 6'1 and am a big guy. I have a Minimag and play back, and I have to say that I have a great time laying paint. (Right Havoc... :P) Besides looking really really good, it's consistent and has never let me down once. It just depends on what you like tho.

If you have the chance, try out different guns and see which one you like the nost. Also depends if you like mechanical or electric triggers too. From what I have seen and experience though, Mags are really a good path to join. Hope this helps.

Just go to your local feild and try 'em all out to see which gun is most comfortable. The type of gun shouldn't depend on your position at all, any gun can get the job done for any player. Your objective is just to find the one that feels best to you. I've seen kids rockin' the front with Shockers, and I myself use a sliding trigger Cocker with no drop up front, just get whatever works best for you.

No, back players cannot use mags, reason being? Mags in tournament use must be taboo because I don't see enough of them out there... that and people don't realize that they can lay paint with anything not just what Billy-Jo sais the Ironment used at last years Super-tourny 2001...

Guns should be purchased totally by preference, use a mag first see if you like the feel, I especially reccomend trying a Retro/RT mag, the trigger is that much different! Several different people will see several different guns as being ideal for a "back" player. So my advice like those in the other posts is try some and use what you like, you'll be much happier that way!

                              i pretty much play back

the usual game of team speed ball usually consists of me playing in the back center, mid center.

I love the firepower of the mag, the only thing I hate is the constant chopping (this is a personal problem, not the gun) soooooo a level 10 is something i am investing in to hopefully alleviate going back to my car to clean out my gun after ever game.
