well, I have both of these hoppers in my posession now, and I'm selling one of them... which one would you take? The 12v has no xboard, and the 18v is old but in flawless condition... what are the pros/cons of the 18?

Is it really an 18V Shredder? If so, keep it for memorabilia and put an X-Board in your other Revy. The 18V's weren't too good because they would strip out the servo gears pretty easily. 18V was too much for the nylon gears and they weren't as reliable as the newer Revolutions.Comment

well... it LOOKS the same as my 12v rev... the kid who sold it to me told me it was an 18, so i don't know... any way to figure out if it is/isnt?Comment

If it's a revolution, it's a 12 volt. The kid probably thought because it uses two 9 volts that made it 18 volts.
I seem to remember hearing when the revolutions first came out they used two 9 volts regulated down to 12 volts to extend battery life.Comment

VL did, i believe, at one point fora short time give 18v of power to the motor. as mentioned, this WILL strip the gears if this is that loader. i highly reccomend putting a XBoard in there which gives them same effect as the shreader board, however doesnt strip the motor. although, just b/c it has two 9vs, doesnt mean it gives 18v power. the 18vs are rare...almost as rare as the 300rnd shreaders.....i wnat one of them....
